"Designed to help families make wise media choices, the AAP recommends that parents and caregivers develop a plan that takes into account the health, education and entertainment needs of each individual child as well as the whole family; and then follow the family media plan together, revising it when necessary."
CMS Library Policy for Outside Materials
If a student requests a book from the high school campus, the following procedures are in place:
Because some middle school and high school books overlap, if the book is considered appropriate for the student's age, the librarian will bring the book over without parent permission.
If the book is outside of the student's recommended age range, the librarian will contact a parent/guardian for permission.
Once permission is granted, the librarian will note the student's Destiny account and bring the book over for student to check out. If denied, the librarian will let the student know that the request cannot be fulfilled.
Parent/guardian may also give permission for their student to read any materials from the high school. In this case, each time a student requests a book from the high school, the librarian will bring it over for the student without contacting the parent each time. Student account will be noted in Destiny.
