Many scholarships are available to our seniors through the Defiance Area Foundation.

Ohio JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship

Please note that there are 2 applications. One is for University/College the other is for Vocational/Trade school.

The deadline for submitting applications is January 12. All applications must be mailed - no electronic submissions accepted. There are full instructions on the website.

Please find linked our webpage featuring a brochure and application for engineering scholarships. Both the brochure and application may be shared with multiple students, guidance counselors and teachers. The application deadline is February 15 at 5:00 PM.

Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO) scholarships are offered to outstanding high school and college students throughout Ohio who desire careers in engineering.

The scholarships are sponsored by EFO in conjunction with the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE-Ohio) and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).

* This year EFO has more than $34,500 in scholarships available. *

To obtain the current Engineers Foundation of Ohio Scholarship Brochure and Application please use the above link or visit: www.ohioengineer.com. Click on "Students & Educators," then on "Programs for Students," and finally on "Scholarships." Students should review the brochure and complete their applications. Materials may be forwarded, as needed, to accommodate your students.

To be eligible to apply for these scholarships, a student must meet all of the following criteria:

be a graduating high school senior (exceptions noted in individual scholarship descriptions);
have at least a 3.0 (A=4.0) grade point average;
meet the minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25) test scores as set by the National Society of Professional Engineers; &
be a citizen of the United States and a permanent resident of the State of Ohio.

Additional criteria are specified for some scholarships. Please read each description carefully.

Horatio Alger Scholarships

There are scholarships for juniors & seniors.

Deadline: February 15, 2026 (seniors) and March 1, 2026 (juniors)

Bryan Area Foundation has 4 scholarships available to Fairview High School Students.

North Western Electric Youth Tour

The Youth Tour trip to Washington, D.C. has been planned for June 14-20, 2026. The trip is in coordination with NRECA (National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association) and is a FREE week-long adventure open to sophomores and juniors whose parents or guardians are North Western Electric Cooperative members!

Garmann Miller Scholarship

Garmann Miller is an award-winning multi-service design firm. We partner with communities to design inspiring places where people learn, connect, and create. We are pleased to invite graduating seniors to apply for a scholarship based on the qualifications below. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

To be considered for these scholarships, a student must:

1. Be a graduating high school senior.

2. Intend to pursue studies related to professional design services, such as architecture; mechanical, electrical, plumbing or civil engineering; landscape architecture; interior design; communication; marketing; and graphic design.

3. Answer the questions listed on the following pages. Please ensure that all responses reflect your own personal thoughts and experiences, rather than content generated by AI or other automated tools.

Grand Master's Excellence in Youth Award

This award is open to all high school students.

Deadline: February 28, 2026

Application was emailed to all students on December 3rd.

Knights of Columbus Council #1039 Scholarship

This scholarship is open to seniors who are the child or grandchild of an active dues paying member (or deceased member) of the Knights of Columbus in Defiance.

Deadline: March 1, 2026

Application was emailed to all seniors on October 24th.

ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital Medical Executive Committee Scholarship

This scholarship is open to seniors who are pursuing a health career.

Deadline: March 20, 2026

Cletus Vetter Memorial Scholarship

This college scholarship is meant to bring back into focus the vital necessity and passion for resource conservation by encouraging college-bound students to consider a career in conservation, natural resources, agriculture or a related field.

Moser Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is open to seniors who are planning to become a LPN or RN.

Deadline: March 31, 2026

Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

For the 2026-2027 academic year, the Chamber Foundation will award up to two scholarships of $1,000 each. These scholarships are available to chamber members in good standing, their employees, and the employees’ dependents who plan to pursue a degree, certification, or license at an accredited college or university. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the recipient’s college or university.

The application deadline is March 31st.

Defiance-Fulton-Henry-Williams County Farm Bureau $500 Scholarship

Thornburg Scholarship

$5000 scholarship to a Fairview or Hicksville student attending a 4 year college or university.

Applications were emailed to all seniors by Mrs. Singer on January 9th.

Deadline: April 10th

Antwerp Conservation Club Scholarship

2 - $500 scholarships are awarded

Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio Scholarships

This year the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio is sponsoring three $1500 scholarships, awarded to 3 graduating seniors in each of the 25 Masonic Districts in the state. At a minimum, there will be an award to one male and one female with the third to be determined based on the applications.
