Viewing Grades Online:
Students' grades can be viewed using two different types of logins (parent and student).
The video linked to the right demonstrates how to login and view grades using a parent login. Students can get their username and password from either their teacher or counselor.
Both parents and students can log in using the link to the right.
Viewing Tests on Illuminate:
The majority of tests taken at CMS are taken on Illuminate (our online testing platform). Once a test has been taken, you can have your student login into their Illuminate account, and you can view their test score as well as the actual test questions and the answer that was chosen. Using this to review a test after it has been taken, can be a very important way to help your student. To the right you can find a video from Illuminate demonstrating how to navigate the student portal, as well as the link to access the Illuminate student portal.
Zearn:
6th graders at CMS will be learning math using a combination of the Illustrative Math Curriculum and the Zearn Curriculum. The video to the right is a video straight from Zearn, demonstrating how to navigate the site, what your student will experience on Zearn, and how to help your student.
Note: Students should login to Zearn through clever.
Khan Academy:
Khan Academy is a free site that contains how to videos and practice on skills covering most grade levels and content areas that students experience in school. It is now even more helpful as a resource to students, parents, and teachers at CMS because it has a whole section dedicated to Illustrative Math. You can access the Illustrative Math Khan Academy page to the right. Once there, you can find each unit broken down by lesson. To the right, you can also access the Khan Academy Parents and Mentors page, which has a ton of helpful information.
Note that students can log in through clever to access any assignments given by their teachers, as well as access the Illustrative Math lesson help.
Test Corrections
After each test, students are able to do test corrections. This is a way for students to be able to go back and rework any problems that they may have missed on the test. Usually students have a week to work on these, and there is plenty of time to get with a teacher to help with anything that they may not understand. Once completed, test corrections are graded and 1/2 credit is given for each correct answer. Correct answers and work shown are required to receive 1/2 credit. These are typically put in the grade book as a separate grade.
