Emotional: Music provides a creative outlet and a break from the routine and rigor of the school days. Students in music are among the highest academic performers and still report less stress and tension than their non-musical peers. 

Social: Participating in musical groups promotes self-confidence, team work, social skills, social networking and a sense of accomplishment, cooperation, responsibility, community and friendship. 

Academic: Research has found that learning music facilitates learning in other subjects and enhances skills that children use in other areas including language development, spatial-temporal skills, pattern recognition and critical thinking.
