Hello! My name is Mrs. Holmes, and I am proud to serve as the K–5 Physical Education teacher at Akers Elementary School. I spent 12 years in a general education classroom before transitioning to physical education, and this year marks my sixth year teaching PE. In total, I have been fortunate to serve as an educator for 18 years.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Fresno State University and my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Fresno Pacific University. I also hold a Single Subject Credential in Physical Education.
I am excited for a healthy, active, and productive school year filled with learning, teamwork, and fun. I am passionate about helping students develop lifelong fitness habits while building confidence, cooperation, and a love for movement.
Outside of school, I enjoy traveling with my family. I have a 6-year-old son and an energetic 8-year-old Goldendoodle who both keep me on my toes! I became a teacher because I was inspired by educators who made a positive difference in my life, and I strive to be that same positive influence for every student I teach.
Thank you to all of our students and parents for your continued support. I look forward to working together to make this a successful school year!
