Dear parents and carers,
We have recently been made aware of concerns regarding parents and carers standing in the road near the Year 3 gate at home time. While we understand that space is limited and it can be a bit of a squeeze during pick-up, we kindly ask everyone to be mindful of where they wait.
Please avoid standing in the road, as this poses a safety risk to all our children, especially during the busy collection period. Ensuring a clear and safe space for pupils to leave the school grounds is our shared priority, and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.
Kind regards,
Mrs Wright
A Wonderful Year of Growth in Nursery
For many of the children, Nursery has been their very first step into school life – and what a journey it has been. We are incredibly proud of how much they have grown in confidence, independence, and curiosity over the year. We have truly loved watching their confidence blossom and their curiosity take flight.
Starting school is a significant milestone, especially when it involves saying goodbye to parents and carers at the door. With the close support of our wonderful families, we have worked together to ensure this transition has been as smooth and reassuring as possible. It has been heart-warming to see the children settle so beautifully into school routines, form new friendships, and begin to use their words to express how they feel and what they need.
A key focus this year has been developing independence. From choosing books and helping to tidy up, to preparing their own snacks and learning how to peel fruit, the children have approached every challenge with enthusiasm and pride.
The children have also thoroughly enjoyed planting and caring for a variety of plants in our outdoor area. We have grown strawberries, tomatoes, pumpkins, and beautiful flowers. The children have shown great responsibility in watering the plants, learning how to care for living things, and observing them grow and change each day.
One of the highlights of the year was our trip to Waterfield Park. The children were filled with excitement as they explored nature, identified signs of the changing seasons, and talked about everything they could see, hear, and feel. This outing provided a valuable opportunity to extend our learning beyond the classroom and deepen our connection with the natural world.
We also had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. The children’s costumes were fantastic, and it was a delight to see the joy that books bring to our young learners. We are grateful to all the families who supported us and helped make the day so memorable.
Another special moment was our visit from the farm. The children demonstrated great courage and care as they met and gently stroked a range of animals. This hands-on experience brought our learning to life and created lasting memories.
As part of our topic on Life Cycles, we were lucky to observe ducklings hatch from their eggs and caterpillars transform into butterflies. These magical experiences helped the children begin to understand important concepts such as growth, change and the wonders of the natural world.
Throughout the year, we have also explored special times and celebrations. We have read stories, sung songs and discussed events such as birthdays and festivals, learning that people have different beliefs and ways of life.
As we reach the end of the year, we are immensely proud of each child’s progress. They have grown in independence, confidence, and curiosity, and are now well-prepared and eager to take their next important step into Reception.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of the parents and carers who have supported us throughout the year. Your partnership makes a significant difference, and we have truly loved sharing this special journey with your children.
Best wishes,
The Nursery Team

Ocean Meets Sky
By The Fan Brothers
This is a magical and beautifully illustrated story about a boy who sets off on a dreamy adventure to a special place his grandfather used to tell him about — where the ocean meets the sky. Along the way, he sees flying fish, floating castles, and amazing islands. The pictures are full of detail and wonder, and the story is gentle and full of feeling. It's a lovely book to enjoy quietly, spark your imagination, or even inspire your own drawings and stories
This week's healthy selfie is from Miss Balfe. Her PB on a 5km run is 23:05 and she is training to run a marathon in under 5 hours.
