Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back. I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Easter break.
The children have had a fantastic start to the new term and have been getting stuck into a range of exciting activities. Conkers Class enjoyed a hands-on trip to Pizza Express, where they had the opportunity to make their own pizzas and learn about food preparation. Year 3 were transported back in time during their History Off the Page Egyptian workshop, handling artefacts and dressing up as ancient Egyptians for the day. Year 2 visited Whipsnade Zoo this week where they explored animal habitats. All of this and we have only been back for a week and a half.
I wanted to also take this opportunity to share with you and congratulate our very own Miss Charalambous for completing the London Marathon last weekend. Miss Charalambous ran for the Teenage Cancer Trust. She has already raised a whopping £4,031 and is now a Guinness World Record holder for the largest number of finishers in a marathon. If you would like to also donate to the Teenage Cancer Trust to support Miss Charalambous, you can do so here. Please see Miss Charalambous' photo below.
Please remember that Monday 5th May is a Bank Holiday and the school will be closed.
As the weather continues to be changeable, please check the daily forecast and ensure your child is equipped with sun cream and a hat when it’s sunny, or a raincoat if rain is expected. We aim to spend time outside whatever the weather.
Kind regards
Mrs Wright
Headteacher

At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 94.32%.
Attendance award:
KS1 - Conkers 100%, Maple 100%,

Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr Freeman
At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours in Key Stage 2 by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes! How is your child(ren)'s class doing?
