World Book Day
We are thrilled to report the tremendous success of our World Book Day celebrations this week.
The day was filled with excitement, creativity, and, most importantly, a celebration of the joy of reading!
A highlight of our World Book Day activities was a special visit from the talented author, Ross Montgomery. Ross captivated our EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with an inspiring assembly where he shared his journey of becoming an author and offered invaluable tips for budding writers:
Tip 1: Read lots
Tip 2: Write lots
Tip 3: Don't give up
Following his assembly, Ross also conducted a writing workshop with our Year 5 students, where they delved into the world of storytelling and honed their writing skills under his expert guidance. Thank you to everyone who supported our Author book sale on Monday and our Travelling Book Fair Tuesday and Wednesday. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and will go towards fostering a love of reading among our students. If you ordered a Ross Montgomery book from the website, these should be delivered to the school next week and will be signed.
Our school was transformed into a colourful array of characters from beloved books, as students and staff alike donned fantastic costumes in celebration of World Book Day. The creativity and effort put into the costumes were truly impressive! Throughout the day, classes participated in various World Book Day activities, including reading sessions with younger years, guessing the "masked reader," and engaging in book-themed crafts and games.
Thank you to everyone who entered the Book Jar Competition and thank you to all the classes that voted!
Your imaginative entries showcased your love for literature and creativity.
A big congratulations to the winners of our Book Jar competition!

Attendance at Central
ClassDojos
At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 95.8%.
I am very pleased to see our attendance rising! Our most recent meeting with the Attendance Officer was very positive and they are continuing to monitor whole school and individual attendance alongside us.
Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
