Dear Parents and Carers,
We've had a busy couple of weeks at school, packed with exciting events and enriching experiences for our children.
Here’s a look at what’s been happening:
Year 3-6 took part in an anti-racism workshop.
World Book Day was a huge success. Children completed book related activities in their classrooms. A big well done to all the children and staff who dressed up as their favourite book characters. The children were challenged to find a book that they absolutely love.
Children in KS2 have attended local athletics and football competitions.
Year 2 participated in an Easter Workshop as part of their RE unit.
Although I was unable to attend Pine class assembly last week, Mr Freeman told me all about how well the children did. The children showcased their learning and enthusiasm, and it was a pleasure to see their hard work come to life on stage.
It's been a fantastic start to the half-term and we look forward to even more exciting learning opportunities ahead. Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards
Mrs S. Wright

It has been a fantastic few weeks for sport at Central Primary, with pupils from Year 4 and Year 6 representing the school in football and athletics competitions across the local partnership. The children showed determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school.
On Wednesday 4th March, our Year 6 boys travelled to Queens’ School to compete in a football tournament against five other schools.
The Central Primary squad consisted of:
Jamie
Rayyan A
Vincent
Rick
Isaac
Ebenezer
Lennon
Ayman
Qasim
Aston
David
Roman
The tournament began with a round-robin stage, where each team played one another to decide the semi-final positions.
Central got off to a dramatic start against Bromet, coming from 2–0 down to win 4–2 in an impressive comeback. The next match against Bushey Manor was another close contest, but Bushey Manor scored with the last kick of the game to win 3–2.
The team responded well, producing an excellent performance to beat The Grove Academy 9–1. Confidence continued to grow as Central then defeated Little Reddings 4–0 before finishing the group stage with a 3–2 victory over St John’s.
These results secured 2nd place in the round-robin table and set up a semi-final rematch with Bromet.
The semi-final was an exciting match. After two 7-minute halves, the score was 4–4, sending the game into extra time. Bromet scored the deciding goal to win 5–4.
Central then played Little Reddings in the 3rd place playoff, where Little Reddings won 5–3.
Although the team finished just outside the top three, the boys played excellent football throughout the tournament. Their teamwork, resilience and determination were clear throughout the day, and they should be proud of their performance.
On 11th March, our Year 4 pupils from Beam and Beech classes took part in an athletics tournament competing against teams from Chater, Knutsford and St John’s.
The competition included a range of track and field events, where pupils demonstrated their speed, strength and teamwork. Both Central teams showed strong effort and supported one another throughout the competition.
At the end of the event:
Beam finished in 3rd place
Beech finished in 4th place
The pupils represented the school well and were a credit to Central Primary.
Also on 11th March, our Year 6 athletics teams competed against St Anthony’s and Knutsford. Central entered two boys’ teams and two girls’ teams, taking part in a variety of track and field events.
All of the pupils competed well, showing determination and teamwork throughout the competition.
Our Central Team A for both boys and girls achieved an impressive 2nd place finish, with the boys missing out on 1st place by just one point.
Both Team A squads have qualified for the Queens’ Partnership Finals, where they will compete again against the top teams in the partnership.
Next week, we will also have reports from our Year 6 Girls’ Football Competition and the Year 3 and Year 4 Football Competition, where more of our pupils will be representing Central Primary in partnership events.
We are proud of all the pupils who represented Central Primary in these events. Their effort, teamwork and positive attitude reflect the values of our school.
This week's healthy seflie is from Miss Dora. She has been trying to eat more vegetables with every meal. Here is one of Miss Dora's very healthy dinners. Keep up the excellent work.

At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 94.22%.
Attendance awards:
KS1 - Pear (98%)
KS2 - Willow and Chestnut (100%)
Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours in Key Stage 2 by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes! How is your child(ren)'s class doing?
