Dear Parents/Carers
We've had a busy and exciting few weeks here at school.
Reception had a fantastic time visiting Woburn, they reported back that they had a great day and saw lots of animals. Our Year 6 pupils had a wonderful time on their residential trip to PGL at Liddington Bay — a brilliant way to celebrate the end of their primary school journey and all their hard work. It was great to see the pictures of all of the adventurous activities they took part in.
Our Nursery children impressed everyone with their class assembly this morning — it was a joy to see our youngest pupils performing so confidently.
KS1 Sports Day was another highlight, full of team spirit, enthusiasm, and plenty of sunshine. Thank you to all the families who came to support and to the wonderful team that organise the event. We hope the dads have recovered after their energetic racing.
Finally, on the 10th July, all the children will meet their new teachers and spend time in their new classrooms for September. The teachers are all very keen to meet their new classes and we hope the children are too.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards
Mrs S. Wright
Headteacher

Last week was a very busy and exciting week for Year 1. We had so many fun activities and trips that helped us to learn and enjoy ourselves at the same time.
Our week began with a fantastic athletics trip at Queens' School. Throughout the afternoon, we took part in a carousel of activities where we rotated through different stations. Each station had a different sport or game to try, such as running races, jumping challenges and throwing events. Everyone worked really hard and did their best in every activity. It was wonderful to see all the children encouraging each other and showing great sportsmanship throughout the day.
Midweek, we were very lucky to have a visit from the Owls. The children really enjoyed watching the assembly where we learnt facts about owls and even had a display. Some lucky children in Year 1 had the opportunity to release and catch the owls during their flight across the hall. We later had photos with the owls.
On Thursday, we had our very own Sports Day back at school. The children all showed fantastic persistence as they completed all of the activities. It was lovely to see the smiles on everyone’s faces and hear the cheering as we supported our friends. Sports Day was not just about winning but about having fun and trying our best. Thank you to all the parents who attended to cheer us on.
The week finished with a brilliant trip to the Natural History Museum in Tring on Friday. This was a perfect chance to link what we have been learning in science about animals and how they are classified. At the museum, we looked at many different animals and learned fascinating facts about them. We also took part in a special workshop where we got to explore the museum more closely and complete some exciting activities that helped us understand animal groups in more detail.
Overall, it was a busy but very rewarding week. The children showed great enthusiasm, curiosity and teamwork in everything they did. We are very proud of how hard they worked during a very tiring week.

At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 94.4%.
Attendance award:
KS1 - Pine Class
KS2 - Ash Class
Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours in Key Stage 2 by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes! How is your child(ren)'s class doing?
