Headteacher Update
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope this newsletter finds you well as we approach the festive season. It's hard to believe that it has that the term is coming to an end soon.
As we ease into the last two and a half weeks leading up to the much-anticipated December break, I want to express my thanks for the generous donations received for our upcoming Christmas fair. Your contributions will undoubtedly contribute to making this event a success, creating lasting memories for our school community.
Next week marks a special occasion as our Reception classes takes the stage for their heart-warming nativity play. The children have been diligently practicing and working hard to bring you a memorable performance. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to them.
As we embrace the festive spirit, I'd like to remind parents to ensure that their children are well-prepared for the colder weather. With a sudden cold snap upon us, please make sure your child comes to school equipped with coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. This ensures their comfort and well-being during outdoor activities.
I am very much looking forward to the joy and excitement that December promises to bring. The festive season is a time for coming together, and I am confident that our school community will make it a truly special and memorable experience for all.
Once again, thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards
Mrs S. Wright

Blog of the Week: Science
Children at Central have been very curious with their Science learning this term. The key focus across the school in Science has been scientific vocabulary. It has been very evident from observations that the children have been using scientific vocabulary when explaining their learning to adults and students are able to broaden and develop their knowledge further.
Year 1:
In Year 1, the children have been learning about different seasonal changes that occur in the United Kingdom. Here are some examples of their learning.
Year 2:
In Year 2, the children have been learning about animals including humans. The children looked at the offspring of animals and humans. They also learned about the life cycle of a human and how they grow.
Year 3:
In Year 3, the children have been learning about rocks in Science. They have been looking at the different types of rocks and their scientific names. They have also been learning about the names of different rocks.
Year 4:
The children have been learning the topic of sound. Below you can see an experiment that took place, where the children tested different objects in water to see how the pitch of sound changed.
Year 5:The children have been creating containers for their egg drop experiment to investigate the effects of gravity.
Year 6:
The pupils have been looking at DNA and there is a picture below showing how they conducted an experiment based on DNA extraction.

Well done Chestnut Class with 99.23% in attendance! Amazing!
Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
