Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderful and busy couple of weeks it has been here at school. Here’s a snapshot of some of the exciting activities and important reminders:
Last week, Year 1 had an enriching experience learning about the creation story. The visit was an engaging and interactive way for the children to explore this important narrative and deepen their understanding. Beam Class took to the stage and impressed us all with their class assembly. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and creativity were evident, and it was a joy to watch them shine. Well done to all the children involved. Last week, the children came to school in non-uniform in exchange for donations to our Winter Fair. Thank you so much for your generosity. This week, we officially started the festive season in style. Every child in the school made a unique decoration for the Christmas tree in the hall, and it now looks absolutely stunning. A highlight of this week was the Reception children starring in their very own nativity play. They brought the Christmas story to life with confidence, and it was a true delight for everyone who had the chance to watch.
In this week’s assembly, I spoke with the children about the importance of being punctual to school. A gentle reminder to parents: all children should be in their classrooms by 8:50 am each morning. Any arrival after this time is marked as late, and being on time helps set a positive tone for the rest of the day. Please help us by ensuring your children are punctual every day.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kind regards
Mrs Wright

We have had an exciting few week in Ash class, full of exciting exploring, wonderful learning and curious learners. Have a read of what we've been up to:
English: Over the last two weeks, we have been reading 'the Finger Eater' by Dick King-Smith. We have been writing using adverbs of manner and time as well as adding detail to our sentences by adding subordinating conjunctions.
Maths: Our maths learning has been based on multiplication and division. We have been recapping our knowledge of sharing and grouping and learning the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. We have all been very persistent and have made great progress so far.
History: We have been learning all about the Stone Age and Iron Age in History. It has been so interesting learning about Iron Age homes and how different they are to our homes now. Did you know that there were no windows on homes during the Stone Age?
Science: In science, we have been exploring different types of rocks including, metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous. We carried out an experiment using chocolate to recreate the different types of rock. Our class demonstrated excellent curiosity during this lesson.
DT (Design & Technology): Ash class have been exploring healthy alternatives to cupcakes with icing. We tried different fruits to decide which would taste the best in a healthy cupcake. Next week we will be baking- we are so excited to see what they will taste like.
PE- Dodgeball and dance are our topics for this term. We have learnt many new skills and shown excellent sportsmanship during our lessons.
As we move forward, we are excited to continue our learning journey and get in the Christmas spirit. We have our class assembly and carol concert coming up which we have been practicing and are very excited to share with you all. Ash class is giving their best every day, and we can’t wait to see all they achieve. Keep up the hard work.

At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 94.79%.
Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr Freeman
At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours in Key Stage 2 by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes! How is your child(ren)'s class doing?
