Year 3 Writers of the Week:
In Year 3, we have been reading The Finger Eater. We have been learning all about his bad habit (eating children's fingers). We created wanted posters to make the villagers aware and to help keep the children safe.
In Beech, as part of our new topic ‘Ancient Myths’, we were looking at the gods and goddesses from Ancient Rome. We looked closely at the famous painting ‘The Birth of Venus’ by Botticelli, which told the story of Venus. We then drew upon the picture to write our own opening paragraph, using figurative language.
In Beam class, before half term, they read The Iron Man. As well as using adverbials to describe him, they also wrote letters to a fictious Mayor about the problems, the Iron Man has been causing. Esah wrote a fantastic description of the Iron Man with similes and adverbials.
At Central Primary School, we take attendance and punctuality very seriously. We aim to have an attendance figure in excess of 96% . Our current attendance percentage is 94.84%.
Please remember arriving on time for school is important because late arrivals will miss and also disrupt the learning already happening in class.
If you have concerns about or need support with your child's attendance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mr Freeman
At Central Primary School, we recognise pro-social behaviours in Key Stage 2 by giving children ClassDojo points. Every half term, the classes decide on a collective target to earn a class reward. In addition, at the end of the half term, we hold a ClassDojo raffle, where the children can win some exciting prizes! How is your child(ren)'s class doing?
