Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you have had a good week. At school, we have had a couple of busy weeks since I last wrote to you. I can not believe we are already nearing the half term. Last week, I had the pleasure of watching Chestnut Class perform their assembly to their parents. This was the first class assembly of the year and this week Oak class performed also. It was thoroughly enjoyable and great to see how much the children have learned already. All classes across KS1 and KS2 have visited the local library this half term and Nursery and Reception visits are coming up. This has been arranged as part of our ongoing efforts to encourage a love for reading for our children We have also enjoyed welcoming in parent readers on Wednesday mornings.
Both the teachers and I are looking forward to seeing you at the parents' meeting on the 20th/21st October either in person or via phone call. Mrs Perry, our SENCO, has also made appointments available if you would like to speak to her in addition to the class teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to thank so many of you for completing the parent survey. This is very important to us and we will be using the feedback we have gathered to action plan our future work with families and carers.
We have been and continue to work on school improvement. This year, we will be focusing on the following areas:
If you would like any further information on the areas above, please do not hesitate to speak to myself or one of the senior leaders, who will be able to provide you with more detail.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Mrs Wright

European Day of Languages
Last week, we marked the European Day of Languages with a wonderful celebration of the diversity within our school community. The children enjoyed a special assembly where they proudly shared their knowledge of different languages and cultures from around the world. Their enthusiasm shone through, and they truly embodied our school values of curiosity and kindness.
To make the day even more special, each year group took part in a unique activity, exploring languages in creative and engaging ways. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to appreciate the richness of languages and the importance of celebrating what makes us unique.
In EYFS, the children coloured flags that held a special meaning for them, sparking conversations about identity and belonging.
Year 1 enjoyed a lively show and tell, where pupils proudly shared their knowledge of their own countries, languages, and cultures.
Year 2 carried out a class survey to find out who spoke another language or had travelled abroad. They shared their experiences and celebrated the rich mix of cultures in their classroom.
Year 3 created posters by writing a single word in as many different languages as possible, celebrating the beauty and variety of global languages.
Year 4 listened to people speaking in a variety of languages and had the exciting challenge of guessing which language they were hearing.
Year 5 became detectives, examining pictures from around the world and using clues from signs and backgrounds to identify the countries.
Year 6 tested their knowledge with a fun and challenging languages quiz.
Across the school, children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the activities. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about one another’s languages and cultures, and to celebrate the diversity that makes our community so special.
This week's Healthy Selfie comes from Miss Prudentino who is aiming to walk 10,000 steps each day surrounded by nature.
