Skyler Tipton “Mask”
6 x 4 x 2.5”, clay, 2017
I decided to make a mask because I thought it would look good if I made it look realistic. I made this by rolling out a slab of clay and then I put it on the mask and let it dry then I took it off and put it in the kilim and then I glazed it. If I could do something else I would use a deferent color paint and try harder painting it cause I didn’t look that good with yellow. My favorite part is the way that I made the eyes because it looks realistic.
Skyler Tipton “Green frog”
6 x 4 x 3.5”, Mold, 2017
I decided to do the frog because I thought It looked cool and I like frogs so I thought it would be a good idea. I made this by making slip and then I poured into a frog mold. If I could change something I would use a different paint for the eyes because the white on the frog’s eyes looked dried up. My favorite part is the color I chose for the frog’s body because I like the green that I used and I think it was a good color to use.
Skyler Tipton “Black mug”
9.5 x 3.5 x 3.5”, Clay, 2017
I got my idea because I like to drink coffee and so does my family so I decided to make a mug that we could drink out of. I made this by rolling out a slap and then I cut it into a square and then put the two sides together and rounded it. If I could change something about it I would change the color because it is kind of plain cause it’s just black. My favorite thing about it was the coil on top so it is smooth to drink out of.
