When creating this piece i struggled to find the simplest way to represent "space" within art. I had many ideas but used the most basic which was to represent room depth by place diagonal lines to each corner. i used the placement of lines but i also used the image of outer space both for the literal representation as well as a cosmetic aspect. I am most happy with the image i chose because it fit well and actually appeared to be opening up to outer space. I fi were to change something i would edit the font of my word so that it as well showed depth and space.

When designing i was attempting to find a font to correctly represent my message. To begin i found a quote that i understood or felt applied to myself, then i created a background to also express the message of the text. Finally i found a font that matched both my image and my message. I am most pleased with my background in the piece because it developed how i had wanted it to. If i were to change something, i would create less whit open space.

To make this, I wanted to display a message that a lot of people could relate to. I did not want it to be too personal or out of touch with society. I chose alcoholism because, while it has affected my life, it has impacted countless others and yet it is not seen as a large threat to our communities. I chose to include silhouettes of beer bottles and other items related to alcohol to make sure that the message is clear and well represented. The drop shadow behind the “Hate” I added to create depth and I would say it is what I like most. If I were to change something, I would like to add a different background so that it is not white.

While making them I tried my hardest to find what would best represent the place and activities without any explanation. For Frisbee golfing it was difficult because a Frisbee itself does not mean Frisbee golf. But it was the simplest and best looking, I also added our school colors to tie in our community. I began by thinking to myself what individual items best described designated destination. For example, when I thought of “little Trees” the park, I imagined sports, nature, and specifically small trees. After deciding on an image in my head, I sketched my designs then tried my best to recreate them in Photoshop. In my little trees Geotag I like the overall layout of it. The symmetry and colors, I think, work well. In the Frisbee golf geotag I like the colors the most. If I were to change something about each, I would change the butterfly and the ball in the Little Trees geotag, and the Frisbee in the Frisbee Golfing piece.

I started with an image I liked of my me, my mother, and our dogs, I then added an effect to the image where I brightened the upper right-hand corner of the picture. I also added elegant decals and the word “Family”, at the bottom. I made sure that the text and designs were white because it is a lighter and happy tone than any other shades. I like the image itself the best I’m glad that I had it when starting this project and was happy to improve it and add a message. If I were to change one thing, though somewhat difficult, I would change how my dogs looked in the picture.

I chose an image with very basic colors and also had a large amount of contrast because I felt it would turn out the best. Because the main objective is to use words in the image, I chose words and dialog that match the character and express his personality. I really enjoy how recognizable the image is. If I were to do something differently I would slow down and sharpen some of the details in the image.
