Drawing II

Ben Thiel "Black & White Drawing"

"9x12", Graphite on Paper, 2022

My idea was a tiger. I got my idea because a tiger can be black and white sometimes and it evolved great.

I used sketching pencils and blending stumps.

I wanted to draw a tiger because I like tigers. I want them to know that I like to draw animals. It was meant to be a realistic drawing.

The most difficult part was tracing the outline. I use a light source to help me trace better. I would change it to a different animal.

The style is realistic. I use lights sources all the time. I love the stripes because they look like a pattern.

Ben Thiel "Color Drawing"

"9x12", Graphite on Paper, 2022

My idea was a whale shark. I got my idea because a whale shark is colorful. It turned out great.

I used a pencil and colored pencils.

I wanted to draw a whale shark because it's my favorite shark. I want them to know I like sea creatures. It was meant to be a realistic drawing.

The most difficult part was filling in the white spots. I used sharpened colored pencil to easily fill in the white spots. I would change it to a different sea animal.

The style is realistic. I use lights sources to trace. I love the color because it's my color.

Ben Thiel "Combo Drawing"

"9x12", Graphite on Paper, 2022

My idea was an orca. I got my idea because the orca is black and white and its background is colorful and it turned out good.

I used sketching pencils, blending stumps, and colored pencils.

I wanted to draw an orca because they are beautiful. I want them to know that I like orcas. It was meant to be a realistic drawing.

The most difficult part was filling the white spots that I missed. I used colored pencils to fill the white spots as best as I could. I would change it to a different whale.

The style was realistic. I used a light source to trace the lines. I like the orca because it's probably my best drawing so far.

Ben Thiel "Collage & Mixed Media"

"9x12", Collage, 2022

My idea was mountains. I got my idea because I have seen other collages of mountains and mine turned out perfect.

I used a glue bottle, scissors, and pieces from magazines.

I wanted to do mountains because I have seen pictures of mountains and wanted to do my own. I want them to know that I want to visit mountains. It was meant to be a collage.

The most difficult part was covering the white spots that I missed. I used smaller pieces of scrap to fill in the blanks. I would change it to an ocean.

The style was realistic. I cut out different shapes to fill in the sky. I like the mountains because I hid something in there.
