Coaches
Mr. Malvik
Reason for coaching: Robotics gives students an opportunity to learn skills that will help them in the future, no matter what career path they take. It also gives students a great opportunity to compete as a part of a team.
Favorite Memory (robotics related): My favorite competition memory was when team 4156 chose 11252 as an alliance partner, and they won the league tournament together. Overall, the more important memories are the ones where we grow as a team and help others, like when the team helped a member get their house ready for a flood.
Ms. Asprey
Reason for coaching: I coach robotics because I love seeing students be passionate and successful in STEM related fields. I enjoy watching students develop passions that lead them to careers they may no have otherwise been aware of. We’ve had many students graduate and go into STEM careers where I have no doubt they will be successful- and much of that success comes back to skills and lessons they learned in robotics.
Favorite Memory (robotics related): My favorite memory from robotics was advancing to super regionals two years ago. It was to see our team’s robot evolve as the season advanced and to compete with teams from all over the Midwest!
