Center Grove schools offer two instructional delivery models for the 2020-21 school year: CG Traditional School and CG Virtual School.
Parents chose which format they preferred for each of their students, based on each student's learning style and personal or family health considerations.

CG Virtual School
The CG Virtual School format is entirely online with no in-person instruction. Parents/Guardians must choose this option on a full-semester basis. This online instruction will be more rigorous than the eLearning instruction implemented in the spring of 2020.
Virtual (K-12, fully online)
Parents may request this option for their students on a per-semester basis.
Instructional time must follow state requirements for length of school day, which includes time spent on a device or engaged in other related activities. (See IC 20-30-2-2).
at least 5 hours of instructional time for grades 1 through 6; and
a least 6 hours of instructional time for grades 7 through 12.
CG will follow elementary hours for our full-day kindergarten.
Students will be encouraged to engage with their teachers and peers on a regular basis via an online conferencing tool (Zoom) at designated times. When students are unavailable during this time, recorded lessons will be provided to the students.
Not all classes will be available through this format.
Students will still participate in any district and state testing for their grade level/course.
Students qualified for High Ability/Honors may participate in the following opportunities in CG Virtual:
Elementary - enrichment activities in math and language arts;
Middle school - Honors math and English/language arts courses;
High school - Honors, AP, and some dual credit courses in math and English/language arts.
GRADES 9-12
Taught by Global Campus teachers, although some courses may be through other online platforms based on enrollment and student need. Most electives will not be available.
GRADES 6-8
Taught by MSC and MSN teachers through instruction delivered using Canvas, if enrollment is enough to fill a class. Another online platform may be utilized if enrollment is not enough to fill a class. Only core subjects are taught for these grades.
GRADES K-5
Taught by Center Grove elementary teachers through instruction delivered using Canvas, if enrollment is enough to fill a class. In order to capture learning time lost from the spring of 2020, teachers will focus on Language Arts and Math. Students in grades K-2 will participate in district-wide assessments.
CG DEVELOPMENTAL PRESCHOOL
Alternative resources and materials will be provided to families of students receiving services through an Individualized Education Plan within the CG Developmental Community Preschool Program.
CG Traditional School
The CG Traditional School format includes three modes of school: Onsite, eLearning, and Blended. We plan to begin onsite, in our school buildings, with all students who choose this option present. We would move to eLearning or Blended learning only if directed by the State or Johnson County Health Departments.
Traditional School
Onsite (100% of students)
All students in the building at the same time.
Appropriate safety measures will be implemented as recommended by state and county health officials.
Elementary school schedules will allocate additional time for Language Arts and Math to capture lost learning time from Spring 2020. Science and Social Studies will be embedded into other subjects throughout the day during the first semester.
eLearning (100% of students)
If directed by the state to close schools
Instructional time must follow state requirements for length of school day, which includes time spent on a device or engaged in other related activities. (See IC 20-30-2-2).
at least 5 hours of instructional time for grades 1 through 6; and
at least 6 hours of instructional time for grades 7 through 12.
CG will follow elementary hours for our full-day kindergarten.
Students will be encouraged to engage with their teachers and peers on a regular basis via an online conferencing tool (Zoom) at designated times. When students are unavailable during this time, recorded lessons will be provided to the students.
Blended (balance of students onsite & eLearning)
If directed by the state to increase Social Distancing
Alternate 2-3 groups of students who attend in person each day to reduce the number of students in the building.
Those not in physical attendance would eLearn.
