Works Cited:
- Alphabetize the citations.
- Use hanging indents: Indent the second and succeeding lines of each citation. (Hit <return> then <tab>.)
- Double space evenly, including the page title (Works Cited). No extra <return> after Works Cited.
- Center Works Cited on the page.
- Do not fancy up the page heading Works Cited. Use the same font size and style as the rest of your paper.
- Use the same font and 1-inch margins as the rest of your paper.
- Number the Works Cited page as the last page in your paper. For example, my header would be Lees 5.
- Make sure commas and periods are in the required places in each citation.
- Make sure you correctly capitalized titles.
- Include the URL for web sources (if required by your teacher).
- If you cannot not find one of the elements, do the following:
- No author? Skip to the title.
- No date? Substitute n.d. in your citation.
- No publisher and/or city of publication? Substitute n.p. in your citation.
- No page numbers (pagination)? Substitute n.pag. in your citation.
