I was featured as the Center Stage student the week of August 28.  In math we worked on and completed  our math about me slides. In social studies we read "Have You Filled A Bucket Today?"  In science we learned  about matter and how it is used. In TFK (Time For Kids) we read the magazine "What a Mess". In English Lanuage Arts we  got into  Amplify online learning  and worked on our sub unit and lesson. In flex we completed our first page in our interactive notebook over integers and their opposites. In Bronco Family we got to meet our teachers and see who was in our group. This is what I learned the week I was the Center Stage student.

I shared the week of September 5th. In reading we did our online reading in Amplify and read about Dahl and Thwaites. In social studies we learned about prehistory.  In CSD we did google slides the whole week. We did our solos in flex for Mrs. Pulliam's room.  For math flex we did 5-a-day practice and in our interactive notebook worked on horizontal and vertical number lines.

Mya

The week of September 11th, I was featured as Center Stage student. In math, we got through our first math lesson, which was on integers with Mrs.Dey. In English, we worked on MAP testing in the reading part of it. Map testing is where we and our teachers learn what level we are at in that subject. In science, we reviewed what we did in the first topic which was about matter and we finished up our density lab. In social studies, we had a quiz over "The Distant Past". We learned about the first human ancestors. In CSD we recorded a flipgrid on a time era that we chose to write about. In Math flex, we worked in our interactive notebooks and worked a little bit more on integers. In English flex, we did a "Left vs. Right" brain. This is what we did in the week that I was the Center-Stage student. 

Aliyah

The week that I was featured as Center Stage student was the week of September 6.  On Wednesday we did an Amplify lesson in dahle and narrative. In math we were working on integers. In TFK we got a new magazine called "Animal Ally".  In flex we did  quill on tornadoes which was where we had to write complete sentences with something to do with tornadoes. On Thursday we did MAP testing in reading.  In science we answered questions for things that we learned over the week that is what happened the week I was in center stage.

Kiptyn

The week of September 29 I was featured as the 6th grade Center Stage student. In math we were working on comparing decimals and plotting numbers on a number line. In Language Arts we were working on mystery of Yellow Fever. In science we were working on states of matter.For social studies we were talking about prehistory. In CSD (computer science discovery) we were working on creating a google form to collect class data. In reading flex we were working on Quill and doing some stuff about honey bees. For  math flex we were working on in our interactive notebook with ratios and comparing integers.

Izzy

I was featured as the Center Stage student of the week of October 2. In math we worked on integers and absolute value.  For social studies we took a quiz on " Developing Complex Cultures. "  We got close to finishing our vocab sheet but not quite. In TFK (Time For Kids) we got really far in our magazine and did a "Number Mania" and I worked on Vienna, Austria and found some really good and interesting facts. In science we did a lab and brought things from home and looked at it under a microscope with a partner and drew what we saw  (my partner was Carter). It was really fun and a overall good experience. In English we took our spelling test and were reading about Yellow Fever. That is what we did the week I was featured as Center Stage student.

Kathryn

I was featured as the Center Stage student of the week Oct. 9. In English we did an Amplify lesson on Yellow Fever. In math we worked on absolute value. For social studies we made ancient cave paintings in the dark. We took a test in science over Gas Behavior. My partner (Hayden) and I created a website on TV shows in Computer Science Discovery (CSD). For homeroom we played the card game golf with our Bronco Buddies who are 3rd graders. In band we have learned to play "Riders in a Storm" and "Christmas Time with Charlie Brown". We learned and played eclipse ball in P.E. with Mr. Kloke the new P.E. teacher. In 8th period English flex we did a Quill lesson about pandas. I had a great week as the Center Stage student.

Clayton

I was featured as the Center Stage student of the week October 16. In ELA  we read "Adventure 8 The Speckled Band" in Amplify. In math we are learning to plot on a coordinate plane in our interactive notebook. In science we are getting started on energy, energy transfers, and about to start our Rube Goldberg. In social studies, we did a new project called "Sketch and Tell'". We sketched what we thought was the most influential to early human survival, then talked about it with our partner, and then wrote about it.  In P.E. we are learning how to play "Eclipse Ball".  In CSD (Computer Science Discovery) we are learning how to create a website (I was with Tyler and we did farm). I had a great week being Center Stage student!

The week I was featured as Center Stage was October 25. In ELA we worked on Sherlock Holmes. In math we did coordinated planes.In social studies I shared and we started learning about the Fertile Crescent. In science we did a review for a test and a video. For TFK we had our first magazine called "Virtual School".

Jahnye

I was featured as the Center Stage kid the week of Halloween. We learned about the Fertile Crescent in social studies and how the natives moved closer to rivers so that they could have water for their crops, they also invented irrigation. In TFK we learned that after Covid-19 some schools kept the virtual school program and many others might follow in those school's footsteps. Math was all about coordinate planes and  how we could use the absolute value method to find the distance between two places that have been plotted, and that you cannot use the absolute value method on diagonal points that have been plotted. In science we were doing our Rube Goldberg project. My team was Camden, Zoey, and me. We had to use most of our classes science textbooks from Mr.O. It was fun to  know that Rube Goldberg is a real person with a fun job, since he had a whole project named after him. The day before I shared, which was Halloween, we watched a movie called "The Little Vampire" and it was really fun to watch a scary movie on a scary night. That was a run down of my week for Center Stage.

Carter

The week I was featured as Center Stage was November 6th. We went to the Husker Life Skills Rally where we learned that working together is better than working separately. In ELA we took our Unit 6B assessment on Sherlock Holmes. In Social Studies we worked on numbers about Mesopotamia. The numbers that I learned were that Mesopotamia was made in 3400 BCE, and that at the time there were 40,000 people in Mesopotamia. In art we learned how to create sugar skulls based off of someone. In Math we learned about coordinates and how to find the lengths of different shapes.  I learned a lot during the week I was Center Stage.

Taettum

I was featured as a Center Stage student the week of November 13th. The week I was Center Stage our TFK magazine was titled "Flour Power". For ELA we did Amplify investigations about who did a crime. In math we learned how to add and subtract absolute values. We learned about nouns in our grammar lessons. We tested on science over energy transfer. In social studies we learned about Mesopotamian Inventions.

I was featured as the Center Stage student the week of December 4th In math we worked on fluently adding, subtracting and multiplying decimals. In English we did MAP testing. In social studies we were learning about the Assyrian and Persian Empires. In science we were learning about the different spheres. In TFK we were reading our "Giving Back" magazine. 

Zoey

The week of Dec 13th I was featured in Center Stage. In social studies we did an "Iron Chef" project. I got to research Sargon.  For science we did "fish farm" which is a website that we went to see how evaporation works. On Friday we had a test. TFK we read a magazine called "Inventions of 2023".  It had some really cool inventions like a flying car, and a hologram zoo. In reading we were searching things up to write an essay about child slavery from chocolat. In flex math we worked on our interactive. Mrs. Dey  taught us a song to remember what to do for mean, median, mode, and range. In flex reading we were doing holiday research about holidays that other countries or other states celebrate. I researched about Valentine's Day.

Wyatt P.

I was Center Stage student the week of December 18th. In Language Arts we were working on the creating citations, work on cited list and the creation of chocolate. In science we worked on our fish tank project and our MAP goal. For math we were working dividing whole numbers and decimals. In social  studies we were working on doing notes on Mesopotamian leaders like  Hammurabi. In CSD we were working on our websites, and mine was showing animals and my partner was Ella . In Mrs. Dey's room for flex  we were working on mean, median, mode, and range.  Mrs. Pulliams room for ELA flex we were doing our holiday research.  That is what we did that week I was Center Stage student in  December 2023.

Stella

I was featured as the Center Stage Student the week of January 15, 2024. Monday and Friday we had snow days because of the amount of snow, drifted/icy roads and wind. We also had a late start on Tuesday, because the roads were still bad. During math we learned how to divide with decimals. In English we started a new unit on Amplify, reading about Greek Myths. In homeroom we worked on our word of the year, I chose the word relax. During music we learned all about jazz music. In P.E. we played basketball, working on our shooting skills. In band I played the songs "Danger Zone",  "Fancy Like" , and "Bohemian Rhapsody" on the flute. For social studies we read about the Phoenicians in our textbooks then took a quiz over them. In art we worked on a sketch of ourselves. In science we read about different types of storms, air masses and the effects of weather. We also watched many interesting videos about the damages of hurricanes and tornadoes. During CSD (Computer Science Discovery) we learned the steps about the Problem Solving Process. The Problem Solving Process includes, define, prepare, try and reflect. In flex math we worked in our interactive notebooks about mean, median, mode, range and outlier. In flex English we worked on our winter reading challenge. Overall my week as the Center Stage Student was great!  

Hayden

During my Center Stage week the week of January 22, 2024 in ELA we learned about Greek mythology by reading the Prometheus myth, and the Odysseus myth. The Prometheus myth is about how humans got fire and the Odysseus myth is about a guy named Odysseus getting trapped in a Cyclops' cave. Throughout the week in math we learned about dividing decimals and multiplying fractions. In science we learned about the types of fronts and the weather they bring. In social studies we learned about how Judaism started and what it is based around. In CSD (Computer Science Discovery) we had talked about the  problem solving process and how apps use it. That is what we had learned  about during my Center Stage week. I'm looking forward to hearing what my classmates have to present during their Center Stage.

Alex

I was featured as a Center Stage student the week of January 31st.  In math we learned about multiplying mixed numbers. For social studies we read about Judaism. Then in Language Arts we started our Greek character poster (I chose to make a poster about Selene the goddess of the moon). In science we took a test on the water cycle. For CSD (Computer Science Discovery) we started our app project. Stella and I made an app called Donesy. Lastly in flex we started making our heart sack for Valentines Day.

Taiden

The week of February 7th I shared my Center Stage. In math we learned how to multiply  fractions by fractions. In reading we were working on paint chip poems.  Paint chip poems are  poems that have two cards that are colored  like green, blue , purple and red. There were five words or so on a card and you had to make a poem using the words. Next in science we were working on our meteorologist project. In S.S. we were learning about Judaism.  In T.F.K. (Time For Kids) we were reading the  "Giving Joy" magazine . We finish the day with math flex or reading. Math flex we were working on "Histograms".  Flex reading we were working in "Quill". "Quill" is grammar practice for sentences.

Elden

I was featured as Center Stage student of the week of February 14. In science we were doing our meteorologist project we did ours for Kentucky. In TFK (Time For Kids)  we took our quiz and worked on vocab slides for the magazine we were reading. English we worked on our love poetry which was really fun. Everyone's was really funny. On the 14th we had our Valentine movie and ate some candy. In math we were doing reciprocals which is the easiest math ever created. In social studies I shared for Center Stage and we were learning about Mesopotamia.

Sophia

I was featured as the Center Stage student the week o February 21.  In math we learned about dividing fraction and whole numbers. For ELA /reading we were reading the "Summer of the Mariposa" and we were doing vocab words with it. In science we were introduced to rocks and the earth's surface. Social studies we were working on our  study guide and played a game to  review for our test over Mesopotamia. In TFK (Time For Kids) we were reading the magazine "Save the Ocean" which was about coral reefs becoming bleached.  For flex  with Mrs. Dey we worked on our 5-a-day book which is math spiral review. With Mrs. Pulliam for flex we worked on IXL skills and Quill skills. This is what I was learning about the week I was featured at Center Stage student.

I was featured as Center Stage student the week of March 6. In Reading we were reading the "Summer of the Mariposa". In Math we were working on dividing a mixed number by a mixed number. In Social Studies we went over our tests and started our new topic over Ancient Egypt and Kush. In Science we finished reading the rock and mineral topic then did our study guide and took the test. In TFK (Time For Kids) we finished our last magazine  "Soccer Stars" and took the quiz over the whole magazine. We played "Pictionary" and "Mile a Minute" to review all of our vocabulary words from 1st and 3rd quarter. In math flex we worked in our interactive notebooks and in ELA flex we worked on Quill and IXL. This is what I learned during my Center Stage week.

Wyatt S.

I was featured as Center Stage student the week of March 20th. In math we learned about solving word problems with rational numbers. For science we did a rock lab and story. The rock story we wrote about the rock that we picked. Reading we worked on our reading curriculum called Amplify. We read a passage from a book and then answered questions. We are reading a book called "The Summer of the Mariposa".  For social studies we are learning about ancient Egypt and Kush and their rulers. We also are learning about the Nile River. In reading flex we do Quill and IXL. For math flex we learning about box  and whisker plots. That was my week when I was featured as Center Stage student. 

Ella

I was student of the week the week of March 27th. In reading we were reading the "Summer Of the Mariposas". In math we worked on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals as well as multiplying, dividing fractions, and dividing mixed numbers. In science we shared our rock stories and collections.  In social studies we learned how Egyptian civilization developed and the Nile River flooding. We also talked about the Pharaoh Tutankhamen and the social pyramid. In C.S.D we were making paper towers with a partner. In flex we had to do a Quill skill to work on our reading skills.

Camden

I  was Center Stage student the week of April 2. In Math we were working on multiplying and dividing fractions it is easy. In CSD we were making a game and my group came up with "Challenge Ball" and is kickball and dodgeball mixed together it might work but we haven't tried it so we won't find out. In ELA we were reading about the "Summer of the Mariposa" this is about a group of sisters and how they try to get a dead body back to his family and back to their mama. In Science  we are reading about the plates and how they move and what they can make/ build.  Did you know they can cause mountains and volcanoes?

I was Center Stage the week of April 10. In ELA  we are reading a book about sisters and a family.  For science we watched our interactivity video  where we did stuff about  plates tectonics. In math we worked on NSCAS practice to help us prepare for our test as well as began learning about  exponents.  For social studies we watched a video on the solar eclipse and got to go outside for a short while to look at the eclipse. In Time For Kids (TFK) we read our magazine "All Access".  During ELA flex with  Mrs. Pulliam we worked on skills through Quill and IXL.   

Hadley

I was Center Stage the week of April 15.  In E.L.A we were NSCAS testing. For science we were working on and presenting our earth's surface project, I did earthquakes. For math we did NSCAS practice and in our work book we were working on exponents. With Mrs. Dey in  social studies we were working on Egyption history we also were working on our "Iron Chef" Egyptian rulers infographics. I did mine on Khufu. In TFK we were reading a magazine called "Wild Ride".  For flex with Mrs. Pulliam wee were watched  "Encanto" for finishing a book called "The Summer of the Mariposas".  On April 18th we had a field trip to the Edgerton Explorit Center.  Sam Ehlers is our student assistant and he got 3rd place in a welding competition so he took us to the welding shop and taught us a lot about welding. That was the week I was featured as Center Stage student!
