I was featured as the Center Stage student the week of August 27. In math we are learning about rational numbers. In ELA we are learning about virtual destinations. For science we are learning about atoms and matter. In social studies we were learning about how people survived back then. In TFK we were learning about how a 102 year old climbed Mount Fuji. KPOP Demon Hunters is the most popular Netflix show. We also learned they are replacing red 40 with a red bug and that a World Cup ticket can sell for up to $6,730.
During the first week of September I was featured as the Center Stage student. In math I learned how to identify and compare integers. During science we studied how to measure volume and density. In ELA we worked on Amplify and provided feedback to our peers in Quill. In CSD we worked on the different things you can do with Google Drive. In social studies we discussed caveman and their discoveries that week. We had art class on Thursday and worked on artificial colors.
I was featured as Center Stage student the week of September 10. In math we were working on integers and "Integers About Me" Number Manias. In ELA class we were working on narrative writing. In ELA flex we were starting "Morpheme Magic". In Science we were learning about mass and molecules. In TFK we were learning about playgrounds getting too hot. For social studies we were learning about early hominins.
I was featured as the Center Stage person the week of September 15. In ELA we did Amplify and Quill. For science we had to do a test. We also learned about solids, liquids, and gas. In Math we were working on integers and rational numbers on a number line. We also were comparing integers and rational numbers. For social studies we were learning about "Humans Spreading Out." We also have art every Thursday during social studies. In TFK (which means Time For Kids) we took a quiz and started reading our new magazine "Amazing Places." In flex math we worked in our interactive notebooks. During ELA flex we did Quill, Morpheme Magic, and Amplify.
During the week of September 29 I was featured as the Center Stage student. In math class we learned about rational numbers. In social studies we shared our sketches. We talked about the states of matter in science class. We completed a digital breakout in CSD class. In ELA class we continued to work in Amplify.
I was featured as the student of the week of October 8. In math, we learned about coordinate planes. In reading, we learned how to put words into complete sentences. In science, we learned about evaporation and the boiling point of water. In social studies, we learned that in the Paleolithic Era where farming was a big part of their lives. In TFK, we learned about how young people made a difference. In math flex, we learned about fractions and ratios. In ELA flex we were working on "ou", "ous", "o", "ou", and "e".
I was featured as the student of the week the week of October 15th. In math we played Battleship. Some people got to play four games! In ELA we were working on Amplify which is our curriculum and learned about the author Roald Dahl. In Time For Kids (TFK) we reviewed all of our first quarter words. In math flex we were learning about unit rate and rate. In science we were doing our case study on Charles Law. In social studies we were creating our end of topic cave art.
I was featured as the student of the week the week of October 22. In reading, we were reading about yellow fever. In science, we learned about Rube Goldberg machines and what they do. In math, we were doing coordinate planes, and we played Battleship. In social studies class, we played a game about surviving in ancient Mesopotamia. In Time for Kids (TFK), we were reading "Kid of the Year" magazine and how kids change the world. In math flex we practiced some more on ordered pairs and coordinate planes. In English flex, we worked on "er", "or", "ion", "tion", "al", and "y".
I was featured as the Center Stage person of the week of October 29th. In math we played "Battleship''. In ELA we learned about yellow fever. In CSD we learned how to code and make slides about our friend. In science we learned about mass, kinetic energy, gas, solids and liquids. In Mrs. Dey's flex class we worked on dot plots in our interactive notebooks and on Halloween we watched the "The Little Vampire" it was fun. We also went to a field trip to the Nebraska Women's basketball game. In social studies we watched a Mesopotamia video and then we also worked on our vocabulary for lesson one on Mesopotamia.
I was featured as the Center Stage student the week of November 3rd. On Monday the 3rd, we went to a Sportsmaship rally in Lincoln and also got to watch the Nebraska Women's Basketball play Northwestern State. Nebraska won 103 to 46. In math, we were working on coordinate planes. In ELA, we were working on Amplify, the story was called "Yellow Fever". In Science, we were talking about different types of energy. In TFK, we started a new magazine called "Spread Your Wings". In flex math, we are working on coordinate planes in our interactive notebooks. In ELA, we were working on complete sentences in Quill.
I was featured as the student of the week the week the week of November 12. In Reading, we learned about yellow fever. In math we were working on coordinate planes. Science we learned about ways energy changes and forms. In ELA we worked on Quill Court to get the correct answers. In Computer Science Discovery (CSD) we did name animation to make our name look funny.
I was featured as the Center Stage student the week of November 17. We completed our review over topic 2 by playing "Scoot." We also took our topic 2 test over absolute value and finding distances on a coordinate plane. In ELA, we were learning about the Yellow Fever. In science, we were learning about air density on energy, and worked on our Rube Goldberg machines. In social studies, we were learning about the characteristics of city-states and Mesopotamian inventions. In TFK (Time for Kids), we were working on our vocabulary slides and reading our magazine "Dream Team." We created a "party animal" slide on an exotic animal of our choice (I chose a sloth). In ELA flex, we were practicing Quill Court and did our Morpheme Magic. For math flex, we practiced stem and leaf plots. I had an awesome week as the Center Stage student of the week!
I was featured as the Center Stage student of the week of November 24th. In math, we went over the topic 2 test. We also started working on adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals. In science, we were working on Rube Goldberg projects, which was where you build a machine using random things you could find around your house. In ELA, we were writing who and what we were thankful for, and then we would deliver it to a person in the building. In SS, we took our quiz over " Civilization Emerges in Mesopotamia," which is when they started making tools out of metals, which they were improving. In Time for Kids ( TFK), we were working on polishing our invites. We chose an exotic animal and did research on it. We were also working on creating a background of our animal, and we chose and included a fun fact.
