Parent FAQ's

Parents and guardians can easily monitor their student’s academic progress through Skyward Family Access. After logging in, select your student and open the Gradebook/Grades section to view current course averages, individual assignment grades, and missing assignments. Grades are updated as teachers enter and post new information.

We encourage families to check Skyward regularly and talk with their student about any missing assignments or areas of concern.

If your student will be absent, please notify our Attendance Office (rebeccahalston@celinaisd.com) and provide any applicable documentation. Absence documentation can also be submitted when your student returns to school. Absenses can also be input into Skyward.

Google Classroom is an online learning platform teachers use to organize and share class materials, assignments, announcements, and resources with students. Students can use Google Classroom to view assignments, access instructional materials, submit work, and receive feedback from their teachers.

While Google Classroom helps students manage their daily classwork, Skyward is the official place for parents and students to monitor current grades and academic progress.

Texas law requires students to attend at least 90% of the days a class is offered to receive credit. Excessive absences may result in attendance interventions or loss of credit.

Students may redo any summative assessment with a grade below 80, with the redo grade capped at 80.

Yes. Students can be picked up anytime after 9:00 am and 3:35 pm. A parent/guardian must check the student out through the front office; please bring a photo ID and allow enough time for us to locate your student.

Students have several opportunities to receive extra help and tutoring throughout the school week. Tutoring is available before school, after school, and during designated Advisory time. 

Because tutoring schedules may vary by teacher, students should email their teacher directly to ask when tutoring/office hours are available and schedule a time to meet. We encourage students to reach out early when they need help—our teachers are happy to provide additional support, answer questions, and help students get back on track.

Tardies are addressed through progressive consequences each semester. For the 1st–2nd tardy, students receive a verbal warning and reminder of expectations. On the 3rd tardy, the teacher will contact the parent or guardian to discuss possible interventions. By the 5th tardy, an office referral will be submitted and an administrator may assign a campus consequence, such as lunch detention. At the 7th tardy, consequences may escalate to a parent conference with an administrator, ISS, or other disciplinary action. Continued excessive tardies may result in additional consequences according to the campus discipline plan.

If your child is failing a class, encourage them to talk with their teacher, attend tutorials, complete missing assignments, and take advantage of any available redo opportunities. Parents are also encouraged to contact the teacher to discuss concerns and create a plan for improvement.

Please send documentation from the healthcare provider when your student returns. The Attendance Office will update the absence according to district attendance guidelines.

Email is typically the easiest way to reach your student's teacher. Staff contact information can be found on our campus directory.

1st Step: Contact someone at home to bring it to the school. Parent will drop off in the front office and it will be delivered to the student.

2nd Step: If no one can bring it, a loaner will be provided by the school. Go to the library to get a loaner. If a loaner is not returned, access to Google will be turned off and a charge to the account will be assessed until the loaner is returned or payment is made.

Students are expected to follow Celina ISD dress and grooming expectations each day. If there is a concern, we will work with the student to correct it and return to learning.

Moore offers a variety of UIL athletic opportunities for 7th and 8th grade students, along with additional programs and conditioning opportunities. Visit our Athletics page for the current list by season.

In accordance with the state law, the district prohibits the use of cell phones while on school property during the school day.

Students participating in UIL athletics must have the required physical and medical paperwork completed before participating. Requirements and forms are available through Athletics.

Students are expected to wear their school-issued badge every day. Distribution will occur the first day with a temporary badge. After picture day, we will receive our official badges that will be replaced. You may use any lanyard. If you lose your badge, we will replace for $5. If you want to purchase a replacement lanyard, it will be $3. 

Rank One is the online system used to manage required athletic forms and student participation documentation. Families should complete all required forms before their student participates.

Students should remain in their assigned lunch area, clean up after themselves, and follow staff directions. Lunch should be a fun break in the day without becoming its own episode of Survivor: Middle School.

Athletics Calendar.

Please report concerns to a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, or administrator as soon as possible, or used the resources provided onn the Student Support page to file a report. We take reports seriously and will investigate concerns according to district procedures. CISD has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying.

Student-athletes must meet UIL and district academic eligibility requirements to participate in competition. See the attached eligibility calendar to know when coaches will be looking at grades.

The bus is an extension of the school day, and the same expectations for respectful and safe behavior apply. Students must follow all directions from the driver and transportation staff.

Practice times vary by sport and season and are communicated directly by coaches. Please contact your student's coach with sport-specific questions.

Contact your student's assistant principal or counselor directly. For urgent safety concerns, please contact the front office immediately.

Tickets for ticketed athletic events can be purchased through Celina ISD Athletics' online ticketing system.

Start with your student's coach for team-specific questions. Questions involving the overall athletic program can be directed to the campus athletic coordinator.

No clubs at this time.

Students are issued a district Chromebook for instructional use and are responsible for bringing it to school fully charged every day. Chromebooks should be treated as an essential school supply.

Each club has a staff sponsor who serves as the primary contact. Sponsor information is listed with each club on our Clubs & Activities page.

Students should report a lost charger and follow district procedures for obtaining a replacement. Replacement fees may apply.

Meeting times vary by club and may occur before school, after school, or during designated campus times. Check the individual club listing for details.

A student's password is CISD(enter their ID #)!.

Students who cannot access their district account should ask a teacher or campus technology staff member for assistance resetting their credentials.

Students can review available clubs and contact the club sponsor about joining. Many clubs welcome new members throughout the year.

Students have access to district-approved Google tools and accounts based on district settings and grade-level permissions. A student's email is the last 2 digits of their ID, followed by their first and last name @celinaisd.com.

National Junior Honor Society membership is based on established academic, character, leadership, and service criteria. Eligible students and families receive information about the selection process.

Students should first ask their teacher or campus technology support for assistance. More complex device issues can then be routed to the appropriate district technology team.

Digital citizenship means using technology safely, responsibly, respectfully, and appropriately. Students are expected to follow the same standards for behavior online that they would in person.

District devices and networks include protections and filtering designed for student use. We also teach students to make responsible choices because no filter can replace good digital decision-making.

Bus route information is available through Celina ISD Transportation and your student's transportation information in Skyward. Routes and times may be adjusted as enrollment changes.

Breakfast and lunch menus are available through School Cafe. Menus may occasionally change based on product availability.

Families should follow the designated campus traffic pattern and staff directions during arrival and dismissal. Please do not create alternate pickup locations that interfere with buses or student safety. See the arrival/dismissal map for the routes.

Eligible families can complete the district's Free and Reduced-Price Meal application online. Applications generally need to be completed each school year.

Students who are permitted by their parent/guardian to walk home should leave campus using the designated dismissal procedures and pedestrian routes.

Please communicate documented food allergies or dietary needs to the school nurse and Child Nutrition. This helps us put appropriate supports in place.

Transportation changes are subject to district Transportation procedures, bus capacity, and approved routing. Please contact Transportation rather than sending a student to a different bus without prior approval.

Families can add funds to student meal accounts through School Cafe.

Moore follows Celina ISD safety protocols and trains students and staff for a variety of emergency situations. During an actual emergency, families should follow official district and campus communication for instructions.

Medication must be provided to the nurse and administered according to district procedures; students should not carry medication unless specifically authorized. Contact the nurse before sending any medication to school.

Celina ISD communicates closures, delays, or schedule changes through official district communication channels. Please keep your contact information current to ensure you receive notifications.

Students must meet Texas immunization requirements or have appropriate documentation on file. The nurse will contact families when records are incomplete or additional documentation is needed.

Students and staff follow established safety procedures and directions from school personnel and law enforcement. During an emergency, please rely on official district communication rather than calling or coming to campus.

Reunification is the controlled process used to safely return students to their authorized parent or guardian following certain emergencies. Families will receive specific instructions if reunification is necessary.

Students experiencing symptoms that meet district exclusion guidelines should remain home until they meet the requirements to return. Students should wait 24 hours before returning to school if they are running a fever. Our nurse can help families determine when a student may safely return to school.

All visitors must enter through the main entrance, check in through the front office, and provide required identification before accessing the building.

Students should immediately report athletic injuries to their coach or athletic staff so they can be evaluated and appropriate next steps can be taken. Parents will be contacted when an injury requires additional attention.

Adults volunteering in certain capacities may be required to complete the district's volunteer application and background-check process before working with students.
