Here are some great resources to use at home! The Florida Center for Reading Research has activities and ideas that reinforce the early reading skills we are working on in class.

You can even make it a game at home! Try a letter scavenger hunt, match uppercase and lowercase letters, or spend just 10 minutes practicing before bed each night. Little bits of practice can make a big difference!

Kindergarten Toileting and Clothing Reminder

Please make sure your Kindergarten student has a complete change of clothing kept at school in case of a toileting accident. This should include a shirt, pants or shorts, underwear, and socks. Having a change of clothes readily available allows students to handle accidents as independently as possible and return to learning comfortably.

If a student has a urine accident and has a change of clothing available, they should change independently in the classroom bathroom. If a student has a urine accident and does not have a change of clothing at school, the parent or guardian will be contacted and asked to bring a change of clothes. The student may wait safely in the clinic until their parent or guardian arrives with the clothing. If a student has a bowel accident and is unable to change independently, the parent or guardian will be contacted and asked to come to school to assist them. The student may wait safely in the clinic until their parent or guardian arrives.

Please note that the clinic does not have extra clothing available for students to change into. Our school nurse is always available to support students with medical and health-related needs.

Thank you for helping us support our Kindergarten students as they continue developing independence with toileting and self-care. Please review the attached district toileting guidelines for additional information, and reach out to the school nurse with any questions or concerns. Attached are the district's toileting guidelines.
