Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) is an assessment program for students in Texas public schools who are learning the English language. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) developed TELPAS to meet state and federal requirements.
Texas annually assesses the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) in four language domains—listening, speaking, reading and writing. TELPAS evaluates the progress that each EB makes in becoming proficient in the use of academic English.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.
Celina ISD administers the PSAT/NMSQT to all 10th and 11th grade students each fall. The PSAT helps students identify academic areas of strength and growth, as well as prepare for college entrance exams like the SAT. The PSAT/NMSQT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program for students in 11th grade and the National Recognition Programs for both 10th and 11th grade students.
All CISD 10th and 11th grade students are automatically registered to take the PSAT/NMSQT, free of charge, during the school day on October 24, 2024. There is not a make up date.
The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered in a digital format that will provide an overall easier testing experience for students.
