For so long I lived as many of us have separating the work me from the relationship me from the creative me. All I gained was a confused me. That is no way to live. It took time for me to unlearn that mode and a little bit longer to put it into practice. And here I am!
I AM a writer.
Whether we speak them or write them, words are life. They can determine and navigate the most treacherous roads and storms. What we speak and the tone spoken can cause a crumble and yet the foundation can remain. From that, we can always rebuild. Don't be afraid of the cracks in the words or in the foundation, the shift that comes may be just what you need to rebuild and rebuild better.
I AM an actor.
Imagining and performing were my methods of escape as a child. The two took me to places that allowed me to feel safe. I could be that child without judgment or worldly correction. As I grew older, I realized that these two were a part of who I am. I could not escape what The Creator placed in me. The question was "what do I do with it." I no longer search for the answer. Instead, I have learned to move with the tide and continue as opportunity presents itself and create my own opportunities.
I AM a creator.
I found a joy in the middle of COVID - crafting. One day I started decorating bottles and creating boxes of handmade items encourage others. It was something I had done from time to time, and in the midst of my solitude, I found good company with paint, wood, paper, ink, beads and so much more. Thus, A Box of Purple Lilies was born.
May your heart be open to get to know the gifts that are within to share with the world. Just as I know what I have is for others, what you possess is the same. Don't hesitate. Someone needs you to pay your gifts forward so that they can do the same. Your actions give them permission. I hope mine do the same for you.
