Alumni run many workshops for improving the English communication skills. The survey indicates we can do more. This effort focuses on identifying the needs and addressing them through webinars and workshops.
Visit CEGCOMM to learn more about this initiative and if you would like to coach the students in their English communication skills.
The English Communication initiative is off to a good start with several components. Visit CEGCOMM to see the progress being made.
When a student enters CEG, assessment is made as to their proficiency in English communication. If at the desired level, the students progresses through their first year. If the proficiency is below the desired level, the student is given adequate support to go through a bridge program to get to the desired level.
During the second through the fourth years, the student is provided with opportunity to enhance his/her English communication skill with the following activities:
Peer Learning/English Club
Each Department conduct activities which consciously promote communication skills – making short and seminar presentations, oral quizzes
Coaches made up of alumni volunteers work one-on-one with students to improve their skills.
English Lab, working with the library, create a Book to improve students’ reading habits.
A variety of resources are gathered and made available to the students to improve their communication skills.
