Student Responsibilities

Student Responsibilities:

The two-day Camp Minikani experience is a school activity.  During this time, students are under the jurisdiction of the school and are to respect the authority of all Webster staff and Minikani staff members.

To make this an enjoyable and successful educational experience, we expect the students to bring a positive attitude and follow these guidelines:

• 1. PBIS ROAR (Responsible, On Task, Accountable & Respectful) behavior is expected. 

  2. All students must be in their assigned areas at the designated times and follow the scheduled events.

  3. Students will only be allowed in their assigned stations/facilities.

  4. Students must stay away from all wet areas such as the bog and lakes unless accompanied by an adult, or in a canoe.   As a matter of student safety, any student who tips a canoe, resulting in students falling into the lake, will be sent home from Camp for the duration of the school day. 

  5. Each person must respect and protects the outdoor environment and Camp resources.  Please deposit your trash in designated locations. Please keep all canoes upright.

  6. Any snack must be nut- and tree-nut-free.

  7. Drinks will be provided during camp, so do not bring soda or sugary drinks.  We suggest an environmentally friendly reusable/refillable water bottle or bottled water to drink during the day.  

  8. Students will be cooperative with others in creating a healthy, enjoyable learning situation.

  9. It is expected that students wear their wristband at all times.

With this number in attendance, each person must maintain self-discipline.  If any child cannot exercise self-control, the administration will have no alternative but to send the child home or have them attend regular classes at Webster for the duration of the outdoor education session.  

Table Hopping at Mealtime:

During the two days at camp, most campers will serve as hoppers during mealtime at some point. To serve meals on time and in an orderly manner, hoppers must follow these instructions:

• 1. Report to the dining hall 5-10 minutes before mealtime for instructions. If you are in a class, inform your teacher as to why you are leaving early.  Wash hands!

  2. Set a pitcher and a drink cup for each of the group members.

  3. Clear the table of dishes, wash the table, and stack the chairs.

  4. Check with the school administration or teacher for inspection before leaving for the next class or activity.
