CHS BULLDOGS

Class of 2020

We are so proud of each of our seniors. We know that this spring semester hasn’t gone the way that we may have imagined, but no matter what, we are committed to honoring all of your hard work as the Class of 2020!

Honoring Our Seniors

The celebration of our seniors, the Class of 2020 is at the top of our priorities as we round out this year. As a school community, we have watched as these students have grown and matured into an incredible group of young men and women who are poised to do great things. The recognition of their accomplishments as graduates of Cedarburg High School will include several different voluntary elements as we hope to ensure these students are honored appropriately for their achievement. Thanks to all families and students who took the time to fill out our surveys. We themed the results and comments and are presenting forward a plan that most addresses the hopes of our Cedarburg families. Here we have information on events, celebrations, and recognitions to honor our 2020 graduates to celebrate with our families.

Yard Sign, Cap and Gown Distribution

An extremely successful day in May as seniors were able to gather their cap and gowns and graduate sign. Over 260 students stopped up to collect their items. It was great to see the faces of our students again.

A special thank you to Olsen's Piggly Wiggly who has donated over 1000 bags to help bag up materials and student items from our school.

We are happy to finally share the year end celebrations plan for the class of 2020. Please keep in mind that while all events are designed around state restrictions, those restrictions can change at any time and may dictate future changes. We do believe that we have created multiple opportunities to celebrate our students as best we can during the current times. As we get closer to each event, additional information will be shared with students and families.

Senior End Date

Seniors will continue within their currently scheduled courses and learning as directed by their teachers until Friday, May 29. The week of May 25-29 will be used to finalize assignments/projects, complete any culminating activities and outstanding work, and connect with staff to ensure all requirements toward credit are complete. May 31st will remain the completion or ‘graduation’ date for our seniors which indicates that they have met all of the requirements set forth by the Cedarburg Board of Education for graduation. Due to current circumstances, a ceremony will not take place at that time.

Scholarship and Award Night

May 20th was originally scheduled to serve as Senior Scholarship and Award Night at Cedarburg High School. While we are disappointed that we could not celebrate in person, we are proud to share this great video celebrating all of our special donors and amazing CHS Senior award winners.

CCSF made arrangements to hand deliver their envelopes to seniors. Award from either CCSF or CHS is a great honor and tribute to your hard work. Congratulations to our Award Recipients!

Senior Parade

Born in the wake of 9/11, this year’s Cedarburg High School seniors are a direct result of success through hard work and resilience. The close of the school year symbolized at once both an end and a new beginning. Cedarburg will always be home for each student, regardless of where they end up living, studying, and working. We will enjoy watching them learn and grow and look forward to celebrating their success in all they choose to do. With remarkable inner strength, the Class of 2020 will always be a special class for us.

As we determined there would be no formal ceremony on the graduation date of May 31st, we celebrated the class with a senior parade through downtown Cedarburg. Collectively, students, their families, and the Cedarburg community celebrated the Class of 2020; cheering them on as they traveled down Cedarburg's Washington Avenue. #pridechs #classof2020

Senior Spotlight

On June 10th, the Cedarburg High School Class of 2020 was featured on My24Milwaukee presented by Concordia University Wisconsin. CHS was represented by 12 members of the senior class and three teachers. Each Bulldog spoke to their experiences at CHS and some of the celebrations of their class. Congratulations to our Class of 2020!

Yearbooks

Yearbook distribution will be Monday, July 20, between 5pm-7:30pm. Staff members will be located outside the Fieldhouse entrance, door 10. PLEASE enter from Evergreen Blvd and exit on Juniper St, to keep traffic moving smoothly.

If you cannot make it at that time, we will offer an additional pickup time on Wednesday, July 22, from 8am-10am. Due to construction, we will be located on Evergreen Blvd in front of the flagpole entrance. PLEASE drive from north to south on Evergreen Blvd. This will help with traffic flow, as well as construction vehicles parked on the street.

Due to our current COVID 19 situation, PLEASE stay in your vehicle. Someone will bring your yearbook(s) out to you.

Senior Banquet

If guidelines and restrictions lessen to allow an event for a larger group, CHS will host a Senior Tailgate in the school parking lot on Wednesday, July 29th prior to graduation. Students will be assigned a parking spot to maintain distancing and can bring a chair to enjoy the company of their classmates at a safe distance. The PTO will be providing food for the night. The senior slideshow put together by class officers will be presented on multiple screens for graduates to enjoy.

Graduation Ceremony - July 31, 2020

An approach to graduation which provides an option within all possible guidelines from the state and local health officials.

Cedarburg High School will hold an in-person graduation ceremony at CHS Alumni Field (football stadium) on Friday, July 31st, 6:30pm.

Attendance is limited to immediate family only. Details of the ceremony can be found here. We appreciate your patience as we worked toward what we feel is the best possible plan to recognize our seniors. We are excited to see our students and families next Friday.

Grad Grams

Although the status of the remainder of the school year has changed, we are committed to making sure that our graduating seniors each receive a Grad Gram booklet. If you are unfamiliar with Grad Grams, more information can be found on the CHS PTO Website. Grad Grams will be extended for purchase until the end of June and will be delivered to each student at the graduation ceremony.

Senior Decision Day

CHS’s Decision Day is a spin off of College Decision Day which is a growing national movement and provides students an opportunity to show their pride and enthusiasm for their post-secondary plans.

Our event recognizes students who plan to pursue: a two-year degree, a four-year degree, a skill set certificate, a career or technical program, an apprenticeship, military service, or work. Regardless of your senior’s plans, this event is for all seniors.
