The Department of Civil Engineering was honored to host Associate Professor Cao Hung Pham from the University of Sydney for a prestigious GIAN course lecture on 26 June 20
Professor is leading expert in structural engineering, he specializes in cold-formed steel structures and has made significant contributions to both North American and Australian/New Zealand design standards.
Lecture
Seminar/ Talk Organized
Dr. Prasad Rangaraju is a professor of civil engineering at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences at Clemson University in the United States delivered a lecture at IIT Hyderabad on December 27, 2024, focusing on Ground-Glass Pozzolans as an urban mining strategy aimed at promoting sustainable and low-carbon concrete.
Conferences Attended
Prof.Mahendrakumar Madhavan attended as the chair and presented a paper at the 13th International Conference on Advances in Steel-Concrete Composite Structures, held in Hong Kong from December 11 to 13, 2024. His presentations focused on the "Behavior of Bolted Apex Connectors in Single-Channel Cold-Formed Steel Portal Frames: An Experimental Study" and "Experimental Study on the Flexural Behavior of Cold-Formed Steel Composite Panel Systems."
Conferences Attended
Prof. KVL Subramaniam participated in the UL International Conclave on Sustainable Construction, which was organized by the Uralungal Labour Contract Co-Operative Society (ULCCS) Ltd. The event took place from December 5 to December 7, 2024, at the Indian Institute of Infrastructure & Construction (IIIC) in Kerala, India.
Seminar on "Fundamentals of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) with Concrete”
This seminar, offered under the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN), provides an in-depth introduction to extrusion-based 3D concrete printing. It covers key aspects including material design, rheology, printing methodologies, mechanical performance, durability considerations, and structural design principles. The program is designed to equip participants with both fundamental knowledge and emerging advancements in 3D concrete printing technologies. We are pleased to host Prof. Narayanan Neithalath, Fulton Professor in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University (ASU), as the lead expert for this 5-day intensive seminar.
