Cebu Doctors’ University envisions a globally recognized health- and service-oriented educational institution with the highest standards of transformative practice rooted in its ideals of Wellness, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. The University promotes a culture that nurtures interdisciplinary innovations and significant research outputs, in continuous collaboration with its stakeholders, adopted communities, industry partners, and linkages.
The annual international research congress is an avenue for disseminating the research outputs relevant to planning, decision-making, and policy development by the stakeholders. It will showcase and enhance the research endeavors through podium presentations, poster exhibits, infomercials, and infographics. Plenary lecture sessions are also organized to continually provide research capability training for the stakeholders.
1. Pertussis Precautions
In line with the reported cases of pertussis or “whooping cough” in Cebu and Mandaue, the attendees are encouraged to observe precautions including wearing of face masks and hand washing. Face masks are required for those with symptoms, and those who are immunocompromised (e.g., elderly, pregnant, with comorbidities).
2. Attire
The attire of the conference attendees and participating researchers must be smart casual or formal. Meanwhile, the working committee members must wear their black congress shirts on the second day (April 19, 2024).
3. Adherence to Schedule
To maintain the conference flow, participants should arrive on time for the plenary sessions, exhibits, podium presentations, and open fora. They must be in the auditorium 15 minutes before the start of the program.
4. Respectful Conduct
Attendees are expected to treat each other with respect and professionalism at all times. Please refrain from derogatory or offensive language, gestures, or behavior. Do not engage in distracting behavior during presentations, such as side conversations or using electronic devices in a way that disrupts the speaker or other participants.
5. Phone Usage
Attendees are requested to silence their phones or keep them on vibrate mode during presentations to minimize disruptions. The use of phones for taking notes or accessing congress-related links or materials is acceptable.
6. Q&A Protocol
During lecture sessions, attendees are requested to hold questions until the end of the presentation or the designated Q&A period. When asking questions, participants should use the microphone and identify themselves before speaking. Meanwhile, questions may also be submitted through the designated Google Form. The QR code and link will be projected during the open forum.
7. Confidentiality
Respect for confidentiality and intellectual property is required, especially during the Research Poster, Infographics, and Infomercial Exhibits, and Research Podium Presentations where unpublished research or sensitive information is shared. Please do not record, photograph, or disseminate presentation materials without permission.
8. Networking Etiquette
Networking is encouraged, but participants should approach others respectfully and avoid monopolizing someone’s time. The exchange of contact information should be done courteously, and corresponding follow-ups should be professional.
9. Emergencies
Attendees should familiarize themselves with CDU’s emergency procedures and exits. In case of any emergency, participants should follow instructions from the congress committee members and the assigned Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) personnel in the venue.
10. Compliance with Policies
Attendees are required to comply with all the conference policies, including those related to registration, payment, food, and code of conduct.
