The Center for Disaster Risk Policy (CDRP) at Florida State University is an applied research center located in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy. Founded in 1978 with a focus on public administration, CDRP become strictly focused on emergency and disaster management in 1997. CDRP is part of the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Program, and CDRP faculty teach undergraduate and graduate courses in emergency management, U.S. intelligence studies, and disaster remote sensing.
Since 2015, CDRP faculty have served as the subject matter experts on unmanned aircraft systems for the State Emergency Response Team. As part of SERT, CDRP has activated and deployed on incidents since 2016.
