RETREAT IN EVERYDAY LIFE

During the week thirteen parishioners began this three-week long directed retreat with Fr Richard Shortall SJ. Each day participants undertake to spend twenty to thirty minutes praying with a Scripture passage which has been suggested to them. They then take a few minutes to look back over this time of prayer and review the experience. Towards the end of each day they stop and look back prayerfully over the day noticing the ways God has been a part of their activities, conversations and thoughts. Twice during the week participants have met individually with Fr Shortall to talk about what has happened during their times of daily prayer. Being a directed retreat means that the Scripture passages suggested are tailor-made for each participant. Slowly each participant is settling into the rhythm of this retreat which is made at home rather than in a retreat house. Please remember the retreatants in your praying.
