Quarter 1: Narrative Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening

Whole Class Novel: I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai and Christina Lamb
Quarter 3: Argumentative/ Persuasive Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening
Whole Class Novel: The Giver by Lois Lowry
Quarter 4: Descriptive/ Poetry Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening
Students will form book clubs based on the novel of their choice and will read a variety of poems.
We will also practice grammar, spelling, vocabulary and public speaking in each quarter.

Religion 7M
In 7th grade Religion, we will be using the following books:
The Catholic Connections Handbook for Middle Schoolers by St. Mary's Press
*This book is used in both 6th and 7th grade.
The Theology of the Body for Teens: Discovering God's Plan for Love and Life (Middle School Edition)
*This book is used in both 7th grade (chapters 1-4) and 8th grade (chapters 5-8).
We will use additional videos, articles, scripture verses, blogs, plays, music, and blog posts to help us learn more about Christ. Daily inspiration, student prayer leaders, service projects, the Seven Catholic Social Teachings, social justice, the sacraments, the the beatitudes, and more are covered in 7th grade religion.
