Our desire is to make arrival and dismissal run as smoothly as possible. As we begin these new procedures, we will be given the opportunity to practice the virtue of patience remembering our first priority is the safety of our students. Following are two SignUp Genius. One will allow you to choose a time and location to drop off your student(s). The other will allow you to choose a time and location to pick up your student(s). If you have flexibility in your schedule, you can view the responses to the selections before choosing a time and location.
Things to keep in mind.
- School day for Pre-K students is 8:00-2:00.
- School day for K-8 students is 7:45-2:25
- Gahanna, Licking Heights, and Columbus will run bus routes. Please contact them for times and route numbers.
- If applicable, please contact your daycare provider to determine if transportation will be offered.
- Students will need to be wearing a mask when exiting the car in the morning and until entering the car in the afternoon.
- Only drivers of Pre-K students may exit their cars and walk to the building.
- Drivers of K-8 students must remain in their cars.
- Plan to drop off and pick up at the same location every day to avoid confusion and delays. It will be easier for students to remember which carline (Main Entrance- dark and light blue or PAC- purple) to go to in the afternoon if they are dropped off in that same location every morning.
- Those using the Main Entrance (dark blue and light blue) carlines enter and exit off Havens Corners Road.
- Those using the PAC (purple) carline enter and exit off Helmbright remembering busses will be given priority.
- Those parking in the Rectory Lot (red) enter off Helmbright and exit onto Havens Corners Road.
- All new families will receive 2 free car tags to hang in the car visibly when students are picked up from school. Additional car tags and replacement car tags for returning families are $3 each. Car tags will be available at a table outside near the main entrance of the school during the week of August 31-Sept. 4 from 7:15-8:00am and 2:00-2:55 pm.
- Pre-K families arriving 7:15-8:00am, please park in the Rectory Lot (red) and walk your child(ren) through the playground to the Latchkey door. Pre-K students will be welcomed by a staff member outside the door. Older siblings can enter that door and proceed to their classroom for that day. At the end of the school day, bring your car tag to the Latchkey door. Your Pre-K student will be walked out to you by a staff member. A Pre-K staff member will enter the car tag number so older siblings can also meet you at the Latchkey door.
- Students (Pre-K-8) who need to be dropped off between 7:00-7:15 enter PAC lot off Helmbright (purple). Students will be supervised outside along the covered sidewalk going to the PAC lobby. The number of students will be limited to ensure social distancing. At 7:15 these students will be dismissed to classrooms. Pre-K-2 students will be escorted to their classrooms. - Drivers of students in Kindergarten should use the Main Entrance and get into the right lane ( dark blue) for both arrival and dismissal. Kindergarten students will be met at the car and taken to the classroom or vice versa in the afternoon by a staff member.
- Drivers of 8th graders on Connected days can use the Main Entrance left lane (light blue). These students can exit at the marked spot by the Church. If that is the only student in the car, the driver may then turn left to exit without going through the remainder of the carline.
- Students in grades 1-5 will enter the school by the Main Entrance ( dark or light blue) entrance or the PAC (purple) entrance and proceed directly to their classroom for the day (Instructional or Connected).
- Students in grades 6-8 on Instructional days will enter school using the door at the end of the upper hall near the Mary statue. These students dropped off at the PAC (purple) will walk through the playground rather than through the building.
- Students in grades 6 & 7 on Connected days will enter school using the PAC doors. These students dropped off in the Main Entrance ( dark or light blue) will walk through the playground rather than through the building.
- Students in grade 8 on Connected days who are dropped off at the PAC (purple) will walk through the playground and follow a staff member’s directions to cross the parking lot to the Church.
- While we are learning these new procedures, students will not be marked tardy as a result of long carlines.
- Families not wanting to use a carline or children needing additional assistance in the morning can park in the Rectory lot (red) where two staff members will lead students from parked cars into the school once all cars are through the carlines.
- There will be staff and signage to help direct traffic and students.
