As Henry James once said, "The only way to deal with the future is to find a way to live in the present." This idea really hit home for me after attending some recent events that reminded me how powerful shared experiences can be.
On September 9, I went to the December Avenue Concert at Leisure Coast Resort. The afternoon was full of energy and excitement. The band's hits had everyone singing along and the vibe in the crowd was amazing. It was clear how music can bring people together and create a strong sense of community and joy.
A few days later, on September 13, I attended the Mr. and Ms. Ambassador 2024 pageant. It was great to see my friend win Second Runner-Up. It was a proud moment for our department and showed how supportive and proud we are of each other. The pageant wasn't just about individual success, but also about how our department stands together.
Later that same day, I also went to the Hiyas ng Universidad de Dagupan pageant, which celebrates LGBTQ+ talent and diversity. It was a fantastic event, and seeing one of our representative win Second Runner-Up was really special. It reminded me of the importance of celebrating and supporting diversity within our community.
Looking back, each of these events has helped me see the value of community and personal expression. The concert showed me the power of music to unite people, the pageant highlighted our department's pride and support, and the Hiyas pageant reinforced the importance of inclusivity and celebrating diversity.
Overall, these experiences were more than just fun times; they were chances to reflect on how important community, personal expression, and inclusivity are in our lives.
