Coeur d'Alene High School Theatre Presents...

The CHS Theatre Department is proud to announce our spring production of Hadestown Teen Edition, running April 23 through May 2. This bold reimagining of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice transports audiences into a world shaped by music, storytelling, and the power of hope against impossible odds.

Our production draws inspiration from the energy and grit of a Brooklyn subway station, layering the familiar world of New York’s underground with the timeless themes of the original story. Through striking design choices, atmospheric lighting, and a live on-stage band, audiences will journey between the warmth of the world above and the industrial depths of Hadestown below.

This student-driven production highlights the remarkable talent, dedication, and collaborative spirit of our CHS performers, technicians, musicians, and designers. From the intimate moments of love and loss to the sweeping ensemble numbers that fill the theatre with rhythm and urgency, every element has been shaped with care and creativity.

Hadestown Teen Edition invites audiences to consider the cost of survival, the weight of choice, and the enduring human impulse to reach for something better—even in the darkest of places. It is a story about forging ahead, singing through struggle, and believing in a future not yet realized.
