Trevor Schmidtke "cheese holder"
5x5x2, stoneware glass, 2022
I want something for my cheese dip as I dont have a dip tray. I had a want for cheese on my chips. My chips would aways be super dry and it would make me really mad.
I had to get a mold and mold some clay into a bowl shape and then put a pattern on it and let it dry to be glazed.. I used a mold and a couple different clay cutters and the clay sponge really helped me out.
The artwork means that sometimes not everything has to be perfect. I want people to think that this is abstract art and that even though it is not perfect it doesn't look bad. Is there any symbolic imagery in the work?
