Graphic Design
To the left are my two pictures (one on paper and the other digital). The prompt was "It's a great day to be a Saber". I tried my best to recreate the sketch, but there were limited options on Canva.
This piece is called English Rabbit. I used the graphic, typography. I build this on Illustrator. I wanted to make a memorial for my rabbit that died a couple of years ago. Some words I used were his birthday, personality traits, and physical characteristics. I followed a YouTube video for the directions. It's hard to describe how I did it but a lot of tracing and editing. This meant a lot to me, he was so sweet and photogenic. He was everything to me. I would bring my coloring book out and spend time with him. I struggled with the shape of the words and kind of the outline of the portfolio. Figuring out what words to put in weren't as hard as I thought they were going to be. The whole idea of making this hurt me and I got very emotional just thinking about it. Overall I am proud that I was able to finish this.
This piece is nicknamed spiral green. I used layers, a background remover, paint tool, and the smudge tool. I, first, got my pictures and removed the background. This took the longest to do because of all the small little details with my plants. I enjoyed making the background, it was probably my favorite part. I was looking forward to messing around with the paint tool. After I removed the background on the pictures, I put them on the background. I tilted them a bit so they would look like they were growing into the frame. I wanted to do some shadowing, but I didn't make it that far. I also spend too much time with the background. I still like how it turned out. The purple and green don't really complement each other. But I think the black makes it easier to see and don't make it look too light.
This is the finished product for the "Who Am I?" project. I named it bread, mostly because I was very hungry while making this. But I looked at this and I thought that bread was the most valued thing in this project. Bread is my favorite food and every time I am hungry, I think of bread. I chose flowers in place of my hair because tulips were my favorite flower growing up. Also in the childhood photo I used, I had just cut my bangs again. I did that a lot as a kid and I feel like my childhood made me who I am today. My face is the night sky with stars. I chose this becuase of the stars, I think they resemble freckles. I get freckles in the summer. I love the night sky, during the summer, I would sleep outside when the misquotes weren't bad.
When I was younger, in school, we would take about veterans and what they have done for our country. They would teach us about what they had sacrificed when they went to war. They left their families and loved one, not knowing if they would ever come back. They showed bravery and fought for our country.
I made this one for the Fourth of July. It is my favorite holiday. I have the best memories with my family and friends on the fourth. We play bags and we have a tournament each year. I incorporated red, white, and blue, and two eagles for freedom.
We would always have an assembly and I would always sit with my friends. The assemblies were my favorite part of the year. I loved going to the high school when I was in elementary school to see my brothers and their friends.
This one is about birthdays. My birthday was a few weeks ago, and I have had and expirence like this every year. My grandparents always give me the most money because I am the youngest in my generation. My brother's kid was born a little over a year ago, and he got $300 in his first birthday card. I got the same in mine when I turned one. I feel that people's grandparents always give them a lot of money for holidays. This one is probably my second favorite just because it's the most relatable, I feel, to everyone.
