ARTIST STATEMENT
idea, my magnet was inspired by spider man. i got this idea because i love spider man. no inspiration from real life things. it is my own artwork for the most part wen it comes to design but i got the letter design by the original spider man comics.
process, the process was easy i just had to make a square and then get it fired and then i painted it. watercolor paint.
symbolism/iconography, my artwork means pretty much nothing besides spider man fan artwork. i would want my audience think about spider man.
artistic growth, the most difficult part was the painting of it because it is a small scale project with a lot of detail and it was hard to portray all that detail onto that project. i overcame the hardness by just doing it. i would change the way i painted it i would have added more detail.
visual voice, this is not a specific style of art. it is unique for my personal style because i have never made a magnet before.
idea, my magnet was not really inspired by anything. i just got the idea from my mind i worked up some colors and boom. no inspirations from life experiences. and no inspiration from other artwork.
process, the process was hard and long but i got it done. i used a stencil.
symbolism/iconography, my artwork doesn't really mean anything specific. i would want my audience to interpret this artwork in their own unique ways.
Artistic growth, definitely the glazing process because of how much detail i decided to put so much detail into it. i overcame those struggles by just doing what i was set out to do on this project and finished mildly successfully in my opinion. i would change some layering and thats it.
visual voice, this art is a style of a pitcher for like water and other drinks. this project is unique to my personal style because it would never have been a project i would have thought of.
Idea, my idea pretty much is a cool-looking and colorful bowl/plate thingy. I got the idea by looking at a cool design. no inspirations from life experiences. and no inspiration from other artwork.
process. The process went too badly; it was mostly pretty easy. just used more colors of glaze and made a colorful project.
symbolism/iconography, my artwork dosnt mean anything specific. I wouldn't care the way. My audience interprets this project
artistic growth: there was some artistic growth I made with this small project. including the extra of making another project with clay and glaze.
visual voice: it is a bowl/ small holder for decor.
Idea, my idea pretty much is a cool-looking and colorful bowl/plate thingy. i was not inspired by anything besides cool colors I found. no inspirations from life experiences. and no inspiration from other artwork.process: it was easy, the colors were simple and easy to put on this project.
artistic growth: I didn't make much growth with this project because it was very simple and was finished quickly. The growth I made was that I made another project.
visual voice: its is a small bowl for decor. it will be used that way.
Idea, my idea pretty much is a cool-looking and colorful bowl/plate thingy. no inspirations from life experiences. no inspirations from life experiences. and no inspiration from other artwork.
The process was not very easy due to the extensive color and detail I put into this project, but I did manage to complete it. I used multiple different colors/types of glaze
Artistic growth: I made some more progress because of the learning process of putting extra detail into another project and taking a long time for it. It was long and hard, but I finished it.
visual voice: it can be a holder for small items on my dresser. also can be used for just decor. if you put water in it, it looks really cool. mainly a small plate-looking thing is what it is.
my idea was going to be to make a large pumpkin like kind of looked closer to a gourd than a pumpkin. i guess seeing pumpkins in real life experiences could count as insperation but i mainly just wanted somthing cool and random. i had no inspiration from other work that inspired this project.
the process wesent very easy especially because i am behind and was at the time as well making time very important and i wanted a big project. it ended up having to be put in the kiln anyway before i fully fineshed it and refined it because i was behind in class. but it turned out cool anyway. i did not glaze it due to the tiny leaks it has because i was not able to refine it and fill in the mini holes.
i made some more artistic growth by learning i need to get better at managing my time and fitting in everything else. especially becaase sadly i get distracted esily and then end up procratinating (a lot). i learned about coiling and how its another way/ technique to make clay stuff.
visual voice: i wish it could hold liquids but because of the tiny holes it has i cannot. it can be used for decor or a holder for non liquid items. it looks kinda like a pot or somthing like that.
