Quinlyn Kuehl- Card board sculpture
The first thing I did making the project were the wings and tail because I thought they would be the easiest. I painted them blue before adding streaks of lighter and darker blue's. I made the body by raping yarn around cardboard to give it texture and then painted the yarn. The head is newspaper painted with a cardboard beak. I got my inspiration for the project by looking at other things people were doing and seeing that no one was doing an animal. I had a lot of trouble with the head because I couldn't get it to be round enough so i made it out of paper instead. I took a risk by painting the yarn because I didn't know if the paint would make the texture better, but the yarn was the wrong color. If i could change one thing it would be the wings, because i didn't really take enough time on it.
Quinlyn Kuehl- Wire sculpture
The first thing I did when I made this project was the tail because I was originally making a dragonfly. I made the body out of metal rims stacked on top of each other. The head is wire with yarn raped around it. I got my inspiration to do a lizard by looking around the art room and thinking of a simple animal to do. I had some trouble connecting all the pieces together but it ended up good. I took a risk changing the animal halfway through the project. I didn't know for sure how well it would look if I changed it. If I could change something about it I would make the whole thing bigger, because it is very small.
