Drawing II

Before I begin; My art storage-thingy was cleaned out by accident, and my early stuff (Baseline, and first artwork.) were thrown out before I could get photos of them. I apologize for that.

Jack Brassard, "Time To Get Funky"

9x12, Colored Pencil, February, 2023

My idea was a rat rolling through this warzone. The idea is inspired and partially taken from Pizza Tower, a 2023 indie game announced in 2018 and released in January, 2023. I used colored pencils to create the lineart, and color it in. Then I used a blender to blend the colors into eachother, but leave them unblended in a few strategic areas, like the back of the walls, the ground, and the front of our large rat. I also used a marker to color in the cheese-slime in the foreground, as it was easier than going over it with a colored pencil. As well as a fine tipped sharpie to go over the lineart. I did not intend for the art to mean anything, though I guess it could be taken as something against/for war. Although I don't really know what. As for challenges, I think that using the blender bothered me in certain areas. The lineart with the sharpie also was annoying, in my opinion, and doesn't look great in the end. Not bad, just not great. I think that this is a surreal drawing, but I'm not sure.

Jack Brassard, "Demand"

Digital, May, 2023

At this point I'd abandoned my ideas entirely. My theme was gone, the themes or lack of, and characters I used in the past drawing completely removed. The idea is sort of personal. It's kind of like how i feel at the time of making this one. It's partially about my tooth pain which is why the jaw's gone. But it also kind of, and you don't have to tell me, I already understand how stupid this is; The sort of feeling of rising pressure and pain, or like the demand of everything kind of falling apart at once, which in retrospect I could've done better with a sort of rotted corpse but yknow hindsight is 20/20. A lot of personal stuff, around me to friends and family, and occasionally to me has happened in the past couple of months and this drawing is kind of the culmination of it all. I used a MSpaint emulator; jspaint.app. I would say I used jspaint, but it's literally just first gen MSpaint emulated in your browser.

Jack Brassard, "Prints"

9x12, Print-Making, May, 2023

This was a class project that we all had to do. Taking a sketch we have, in this case my favorite sketch is one also listed down below.  We imprinted the printed sketches that we had, onto a sheet of styrofoam. Using a pencil or pen, then we took an ink roller and rolled it over the styrofoam until it's thoroughly covered. After that, we stamp the styrofoam down onto a sheet of colored paper.  I had one really good print but the rest on that page sucked, so i used the other prints on a seperate paper and just glued the good one to those. it was alright. I dunno what else to say, really.

Jack Brassard, "Finish Line"

Digital, May, 2023

This was done for my Baseline to Finish-line project. The background ocean was done in this class as a sketch a week or two ago. I was thinking of a baseline to finish line idea, as my original baseline is gone and I've forgotten what it was entirely. So I remembered the background and decided to draw something on top of it, i dunno maybe it's a shark attack or something. There's no real meaning, I just enjoy drawing gorey, bloody images for fun. It also helps me vent emotions but that's besides the point. Anyway uhhh yeah idc if this is professional or not at this point.

These images are things i have uploaded for the sketchbook assignments.
