Drawing

I found a random picture on pinterest that I really liked and started drawing. Ive grown up around flowers my whole life so that has made me love them.

I started by drawing the petals, then I drew the stamen, then I shaded everything. Then I drew specs for more details on the petals.

The artwork symbolizes happiness to me. Flowers have always made me happy and the idea of them always brought people joy

I had trouble creating the petals and making them not look weird but also not perfect at the same time, I wanted them to look natural and that was difficult for me to do. If I were to start over I would take more time.

I think this style of art is realistic. I dont love it and it is not my favorite art work ive done for the class but it was my first sketch and it was nice to see where i started

I picked lillies because I am named after this flower. I grew up around flowers and decided to make this for my mom.

I used oil pastels to create this. I started sketching this with pencil then colored it in with the pastels. I blended everything and added different details.

Flowers are used for both sad and happy occasions. Ive seen them be used for both when bringing deliveries with my mom. To me flowers are very symbolic for celebrations and sadness.

The most difficult part for me was around the middle of the flowers and making sure you could tell there are different things and not just one big thing of color. I used black to outline the parts so they didn't look together. I would make the flower more pink if I was to start over.

This style of art is realistic. My drawing made me feel proud of myself because I never thought that I could make something that beautiful.
