Chip bowl

I knew that I would be a bowl for chips so I thought that it should be a very large bowl is I made it quite large. I used a large styrofoam circle piece to but the clay that I had rolled, I used the slab roller , I also used the cut tool to get rid of any pieces that were to long. Getting the bowl to stay up because the sides were so heavy that they would fall down which is why in the picture you can see that the walls of the bowl are very droopy. I would not have taken the bowl out of the styrofoam circle because that caused me to tear the bowl several times and have to redo it. This are work is abstract because it has very weird shapes and it isnt your typical bowl. It makes it unique to me because I used a pattern that I had to press on and not roll on. I love that it is a very large bowl making it useful to do many things.

Dip Bowl

My idea was to make a small bowl but large enough to hold a decent amount of salsa. I got the idea because most salsa bowls I see are very tall and deep but not very wide making it hard to dip chips in so I made one that is deep but not very tall. I didn't really have any inspiration I just wanted to make a more unique dip bowl then most that are used in restaurant. I used a small styrofoam circle piece to for the clay that I had rolled, I used the slab roller , I also used the cut tool to get rid of any pieces that were to long. This artwork doesn't really mean much of anything it was just a creation that I really like. I want them to think that it is really useful because the fact that you can dip a whole chips in and not 1/5 of a chip. There wasn't any symbolic imagery just imagery because I had imagined a dip bowl that you could dip the whole chip in. None of it was hard because I had learned from my mistakes from the chip bowl and knew not to take it out of the styrofoam. I would've used a different pattern because if you aren't careful you will break the chip that you are dipping in the bowl. Abstract because there isn't a real distinct shape and that pattern also changes in areas. it makes it unique to me because I made the walls shallow enough that you can dip the whole chip and most dip bowls only allow you to dip 1/5 of a chip. I love that you can dip a whole chip in it while still being able to hold a good amount of salsa.

My idea was to make a cup but I didn't want it to be a standard looking cup. I got the idea because I thought that it would be a good idea I was going to make the standard looking cup but then I decided to make it unique looking by using rings. I didn't have any inspirations just wanted to make a cup. I used the slab roller for the bottom piece, a ton of slip, and the . This artwork doesn't really mean anything at all. I would want people to think that it is a very unique looking cup. There is no symbolic imagery. The hardest part of this was getting everything it stay up and not fall over. I over came the struggle but only doing so much of it a day and then once it dry's a little start the next portion of it. I would've done the stander looking cup. This art piece is abstract because it is very oddly shaped because the fact that I used rings to make the walls of the cup. It makes it unique to me because I didn't make the standard looking cup. I would hope that people would find it very interesting and cool. I love that it is unique to me.

The rest down are wheel practice day proof

The Miss Match

My idea was to make a plate but my fat thumb hit the wall of it and messed it up so it got turned into a cup instead. I got the idea because I thought it would be fun to try and make a bowl but I had to make it into a cup because I messed it up. My process was to build the walls up like a cup and then once I got it to the desired hight to price it down slowly which caused my to ruin it. I used the wheel. This art work doesn't mean much to most people but to me it ment practice on the wheel and getting better at it. I want them to think it looks very cool with a gold and black sparkles mixed in. There is no symbolic imagery. What was most difficult was the glazing because I used two different colors and mixed them together. I over came this struggle by just dealing with it and just work around the difficulties. I would've gotten a container and poured the colors in the container and mixed them around and then glazed. non-objective because I failed to make what I wanted to but I still was able to fix the mistake and make it look intentional. Because the fact that I made an accident and messed it up making me the only person knowing that it wasn't intended to be a cup. I love the color mix of the gold and black it just really pops.

The Half Bowl

My idea was to make a bowl that was very deep but flattend at the top. I got the idea because I thought it would look very cool and interesting. I built up the walls and learned from the cup I made to start from the bottom to the top and not the top to the bottom because it makes it is easier to ruin. I used the wheel. This artwork doesn't really mean much of anything. I want them to think that it looks very unique because the way it was glazed. There is no symbolic imagery. None of it was difficult. I would've taken my time a bit more when I shrank it down. Abstract because it has no real shape. Because I used multiple colors. The way the colors compliment each other.

Sparkling Midnight

My idea was to make a bowl. I got the idea because I just want to make a bowl because I found a color that looked really good. My process was making a bowl semi quick while still making it look good. I used the wheel. This art work doesn't really mean anything it just looks really cool. I would want them to think that it looks really cool especially when a bright light is shined on it. There is no symbolic imagery. Nothing was really that difficult. I wouldn't change anything because I love the way it looks. Abstract because it changes looks based on how you look at it and the brightness of the lights and if you shine a flashlight on it. Because it looks very cool. The way it looks when you shine a light on it.
