Jason Claussen Slump Drape Bowls
Medium and small, stoneware and glass, 2025
My idea was to make chip and dip bowls/plates and a Jewelry holder for my mom. Ms. Garrity gave me the initial idea and I evolved it by trying different designs and making the edges wavy.
I used the styrofoam circles and put clay over that that I flattened and then shaped my clay into a bowl shape. I used the long stick thing and a knife.
It show that I like things to put my stuff.
Not cracking the clay when put it into the mold circle.
The style is utilitarian for food and such.

I wanted to make some usable dinnerware for my mom.
I used the slab roller and other hand tools.
I made it because I like custom dinnerware and also the spoon says "mom" on it with a heart for my mom.
Shaping the spoon was the hardest and what I would change is making the plate bigger.
This style of art is utilitarian.
