I wanted this to be a bowl for chips since I don't have any bowls that are good for holding chips and plates just don't work all that well. The piece unfortunately got taken off the slump mold before it was completely dry so it didn't turn out as well as I would've hoped. The most difficult part of the process was trying to get the bowl to sit flat in the mold. It's a realistic work and my favorite part is the little spot that it has on it from glaze that dripped off another project.
This piece goes with my chip bowl because when you have chips you have to have sauce. I used the slump method the most difficult thing about this process is trying to get the clay to sit right in the mold. I really struggled trying to get the clay to be a good circle and same with the feet of the bowl. I do like how I put the design on the clay and I wish I would've done the same with mo other projects. This is a realistic bowl that's meant for functionality.
I wanted to make a mug that I could put coffee in but I wanted to put my own spin on it and that's where I got the twisting handle idea from. I did it by rolling a clay slab into a pancake then cutting it into a rectangle and folding it into a cylinder, to make the bottom I took the exes clay rolled it out then put the cylinder on it so it could hold liquide. for the handle I rolled a long piece of clay out so it was roughly the same and I cut it in half twisted it and tried to stick it to the mug the best that I could.
I wanted to make at least one thing on the wheel I first wanted to make a vase but I never had enough clay to make one to the scale that I wanted, so I decided to make a small bowl. I used the wheel and some extra clay to make the handles to hold the bowl. the hardest part was getting it off the wheel because I didn't want to break it and it didn't seem to want to come off. this was a realistic piece that was meant to be functional. I like how everything came out nice and smooth
this piece is supposed to be one of my expressive projects. I took inspiration from trophy chalices but instead of a cup on the top I put more of a box and I was thinking about making a lid but that would make it more of a utilitarian project. I mainly used slabs for most of the things I make like the base the box and the rolled out the beam that's holding it up. the most difficult part was trying to keep everything from falling apart. what I ended up having to do was get it to the point where it was just balancing and then I put it outside so it wouldn't fall over.
This piece is my second expressive project. I took inspiration from a pail. I wantedÂ
