Jack Arndt "Bowl"
6" by 6", Clay, 2026
ARTIST STATEMENT: We were on the wheels for ceramics, and I was able to complete one singular bowl and glaze it. I finally didn't rush the bowl, so it actually turned out decently well. Making the bowl was the most difficult part, as I'm not good at the wheel.
Jack Arndt "Mountains"
5" by 5" by 2", Clay, 2026
ARTIST STATEMENT: I wanted to create a mountainside view to hang on my wall. So, I made it out of clay and added lots of crosshatching to make it look unique, and glazed with a blue glaze. I do wish it turned out more like mountains, but instead it kind of looks like a mess.
Jack Arndt "J"
2" by 2", Clay and Paint, 2026
ARTIST STATEMENT: Originally, my plan was to make a wave for the magnet, but it turned out more like a J. So, I decided instead of creating a wave, to create a J, as the beginning of my name.
Jack Arndt "DeWitt Water Tower"
8" by 18", Clay and Glaze, 2026
ARTIST STATEMENT: Originally, I was going to create a normal vase. As I was building onto the large vessel, it started going out, and it looked almost like a water tower. So, I decided to make the vessel a water tower, much like the one in Lincoln Park. I added "DEWITT" on the side of the water tower, and painted it with a blueish-white glaze.
Jack Arndt "Sunset"
Stop Motion, 2026
I used dauber markers to make a piece of art, and turned it into a piece of artwork that looks like a sunset. I thought this would be unique, as I haven't seen anyone do it for this class. I used yellow, orange, blue, and purple for the sunset and I used green for the grass. I left an empty space and drew a sun to bring it all together. I was going to make a piece with modeling clay, however I thought daubers would be more unique.
