"Baseline Artwork" Christian Long

3x2x1" Stoneware Clay & Glass, 2022

I wanted to make a heart because it made me think of my friend that liked someone. I started with a slab of clay and cut out two hearts and stacked them. One heart broke, which could be symbolic of a broken heart or bad relationship. The back heart is still solid and strong, also could represent relationships. If I started over I would change the glaze color, I thought it would turn out more gold. I really love how the meaning behind the work.

8x6x1" and 3x3x1," Stoneware and Glass, 2022

I had to follow directions to make the slump drape bowls. I made slabs of clay and cut out circles. I then put them in styrofoam molds and let them slump by tapping. If I were to start over I would refine the shape and make them more perfectly symmetrical. I really love what they help with. I can use these at family gathering and events.

"Green Pitcher" Christian Long

4X3x7" Stoneware and Glass 2022

I wedged the clay and rolled it into a slab. I next traced the template to make the right shape. I let the clay dry to make it strong leather hard. Then I formed the pitcher. If I were to start over I would put more focus into it. I really love how the glaze turned out and the green color.

4X3x7" Stoneware and Glass 2022

I wedged the clay and rolled it into a ball. I next hollowed the template and made the right shape. I then designed the clay to make head looking skulls. after i dried it to get it stronger. Then I glazed it to make it look like time got ahold of it. If I were to start over I would make it more bigger. I really love how the glaze turned out and the details.
