Plaster, Paint, Buttons, Rafia
The source of inspiration of my mask is my friends cow “Lezlie.” I like helping my friend wash Lezlie and when my friend shows Lezlie I like to help get her ready. To make the mask first I picked out a mold for my mask, I picked a McDonald's salad bowl and I also had to find a snout and ears, the snout and ears were from a horse mold. Then I got the plaster wet and put then over the molds. When the molds dried I attached the snout and ears to the McDonald’s bowl. After the mask was finished I painted the whole mask white and when that dried I painted it black and left a white spot on the forehead, I painted the snout pink. Last I added eyes that were buttons and then I added rafia so it looked like the cow was eating hay. When I needed eyes I was thinking of using googly eyes but we only had really small ones so I had to make eyes that were big enough to fit my mask. So I looked in the buttons bin and found 2 black buttons and then I got foam and glued the buttons onto the foam and it was a perfect size and it looked good. I didn’t know where to have white spots so I just thought of what my friends cows look like and my favorite one of her cows has a white spot on her forehead. My favorite part about the mask is the snout and the rafia that looks like hay. I like it because it is something cows eat so it looks cool and it is not plain and boring. If I started over and change something I would smooth the plaster down more so that it’s more smooth and so that there isn’t holes.

Watercolor paper, pencil, hot glue, oil pastel, black watercolor paint
My inspiration is that I like warm places, like Florida. I also like sunsets and sunrises and I think they are really pretty. To make my project I had to look at pictures of sunsets and palm trees so I new what I was going to do then I lightly drew it with pencil. After I drew it I went over it with hot glue. Once the hot glue dried I colored the spaces with oil pastels and blended colors. When I was done coloring I made cracks in the paper and then colored over it with black watercolor paint and washed it of. After I painted watercolor paint and washed it off twice I let it dry and framed it. I challenge I faced was when I was coloring the trunk to the palm tree I could not fit the oil pastel in the space because it was so small. To fix it I just filled it in a much as I could and then when I was painting the watercolor paint over I colored those places and it filled the white spot and I also used my fingers the smudge it into the white areas. A risk I took was the colors because I didn’t know what colors to use for my sunset so I used many colors like the rainbow and pink. Then I just blended them all and together and mixed them.My favorite thing in my project is the colors I picked for the sunset. I like them because they all go good together and it actually looks like a sunset. I would change that I didn’t do the ocean on the other side of the palm tree island so it looks like the ocean ends there and I wish I would have put the ocean there so that it looks better.

Clay and glaze
Kimmy Cantrell because he is different from every other artist and he does different stuff like make weird faces. First we had to sketch ideas. Second I got the clay and cut out the face and other features like the eyes, mouth and nose. Then we put patterns in the clay. Mrs Butler then put it in the kiln. After it was done in the kiln we picked glaze colors and glazed them. When we were done glazing she fired them and they were done. When Mrs. Butler took it out from being fired it didn’t look glossy. So we decided to put a clear glossy glaze over top of it and then fire it again. It was really hard for me to make something that was not realistic. So I wanted to make real eyes and a nose and lips. But I knew it couldn't look real so I just made crazy shapes. I really like how the colors turned out. Even though it did not turn out glossy I still like the colors and what they look like together. I would change the patterns because on the face I just did a bunch of lines and on the eyes and lips it is hard to see the patterns.
