My idea was to make a little mini sushi with ginger chopsticks wasabe, and a little mini soy sauce dipping bowl. I made this because I love sushi and it it is my favoiye kind of dish to eat.
First I took the clay and flattened it down so that I could make a plate shape for my sushi to go on. Then after that was cut out I shaped a little until it looked like a plate. Then I rolled two thin pieces of clay until they looked like chopped sticks. Next I took a small piece of clay and shaped it until it looked like a mini bowl. Then I took a little mini ball of the clay set it on the clay plate then took a sculpting tool to making it have dents for the wasabi. After that I flattened a piece of clay and made that look like ginger. Then I flattened another piece of clay then rolled little piece so that it would look like rice for the sushi after it was baked I painted the bowl black the wasbi different greens the ginger with pinks baige and reds the chops sicks with a light brown the plate with white and finally the in side of the sushi with reds for crab meat green for avacods and a different green for cucumber and finally an off white for the rice.
I want to show my audience my love for Japanese food and realism of ceramic design.
The most difficult pat of making this peice was the sushi is self because I had to roll each indisual rice grain without it looking to big or to small. my solution was to try to take them one at a time a make it small as possible. If i were to start over I would change the sushi to make it just a lille more relalistic.
My art work it based on realism it is unique to my style because it has my miss shamed loved for detail and hard work it making it perfect as possible. The this that I love about this artwork it the little bowl that I made for the soy soy sauce along with the chop sticks.
My idea was to make to themed bolws out of nature one with a flower and on with leaves First explain what your idea is. How did you get the idea and how did it evolve? Inspirations from life experiences? Another Artwork?
I compressed the clay for at least five minutes then I flattened the clay until it was at the right thickness. Next I took a clay stencil and pushed that into the clay until it looked like I compressed every part of the stencil then I took a slump tool and ponded it on the tale until it look like a bowl after it was fired in the kiln. For my first bowl I glazed it with arctic blue and let that sit for ten minutes. Then I took Blue rutile and painted a drip pattern along the edges of the bowl. And painted it like that so it would make a blend and shape when it comes out of the kiln. Then I painted the bowl on the inside with oatmeal and layered that with iron yellow so that when it came out of the kiln it would have a nice yellow contrast then I painted the middle with jasper, aventurine and Temmoko and doted it so it would look like the middle of a flower. For my sencond bowl I glazed it with I painted it with multiple green glazes and layered it so that it would have a nice leafy color to it. Finally I took metallic silver and I painted on the outside where you can so the little texture of green.
This artwok visualizes about nautre and art together wanting my audience the beauty in nature through art.
The most dificult part of this peice was making sure that the bowl would not crake when I used the slumping tool so I very percisly cut and slupit in out gentaly If i could start over for my sencond bowl I would add more green to the leave bowl to make it more vibrante
This style of artwok is ceramic and my art wok is unique to my own personal style because it about my love of nature and art. the this I live about these peices is that the came out really pretty and so unquie out of the kiln.
My idea was to make two little mini cups and different colors and textures to go alone with it.
First I pounded clay in a ball that then I got the pottery wheel wet with a sponge. Once the wheel was full drench in water I took the clay and I set it on top of the wheel. After it was on the wheel I took my left hand and put it near the clay and then to stabilize it then I took my right to shape the cup to shape it. Once I had the cup in a rounded shape. I proceed to shape the cup into a thin looking cone shape until I made it leveled finally after it was leveled I took my two finger that are in my right hand and shaped it until it looked like a bowl Once It look like a bowl and It was at it’s right thickness I stoped the wheel took some water and put it on the wheel so that the clay that I just made would slide of easier. Then I took my cutting tool and slid it off with another tool to pick up the clay easier. After it cooked in the kiln I glazed the first cup, t with oat meal then layered that with midnight blue, then on out side I layered that with, chump plum and ancient jasper, Then one my second cup I glazed it with saturated gold on the out side with just a little bit of palladium and jade making this drip wide pattern.
This artwork means the beauty of colors I want my audience to see all the colors you can make if you just take the risk of making it.
The most difficult part of these two pieces was leveling the cups on the wheel so that it could be straight so I had to focus and keep trying and trying again to get it just right. I I could change anything I would make the rainbow looking cup just a little bit taller.
This style of artwork is ceramics and it makes it unique to my own style because I don't always like to make everything perfect even if it is big or small. The thing I love about these two pieces are the colors that I put on them.
My idea was to make a beautiful Pitcher with flowers on it to connect me with nature. i made this because it reminds my of nature and the gardens that I plant with my father on a spring day.
I took to slabs of clay and scored them together and then took and wedged and smoothed out the clay on both sides for a couple minutes then when the clay way really nice and compressed together than I took a pincher stencil and used my craving tool to carve out the edges of the stencil then I took a flower stencil and pressed that into the clay until I had a nice visible digan on the clay After that I wet it down a little bit with water and stood it up and soccored the left side of the clay on both of the edges then took my fingers and smoothed and pinched the two sides together. Then I pinch the top part of the pitcher so the water can pour out easily when it is totally finished. Next I rolled the clay to make a coil for that part of the pincher where I scored it all together so that it wouldn't come apart when you baked the clay after you're done. Then I took my leftover clay and flattened that down to make the bottom part of the pitcher. After it was fired in the kilm I glazed it with Fire Brick red, Iron yellow, Artice Blue, Jade and turquoise. on different parts of each flower.
This artwork means the beauty of falure I want to show my adience that even though the galze did come out perfect when it came out of the kiln it still came out to be something beautiful.
The most difficult part of making this piece was trying to layer this so the they would be vibrante when it comes out of the kiln If I would to started over I would try to make sure that the glazed would stay on better so it would not drip from the side like last time.
The artwork I made was abstract art work focusing on the colors not just how perfect and net it need to be not everything need to be perfect the was makes my artwork unique The thing I love most about this art wok is that fact even though it is not perfect how I wanted it to be and still turn out to be something beautiful.
My idea was to make a music themed pot with different notes like the treble celf the bass clef and quarter notes. I got this I idea from my love of music and how I grow with it through the years like playing in band, choir and performing in musicals. I really wanted this pot to be connected to my daily life of music and art.
I took a metal bowl and wrapped that in plastic, Then I took my left over clay and made clay balls after I made each clay ball I smashed it down until it looked like an even circler flower pedal. Next I grabbed each flower pedal that I made and pressed in the center and along side the bowl until it was layered after everything was even and layered. I let that sit for a couple of day so that it could form into a bowl. After those days have set I took the clay bowl out of the metal bowl then, I used a wedging tool to smooth the inside and the outside bowl making sure there were no sharp or cracked areas. After it cam out of the kiln I first painted the outside of the pot with river rock to have that nice base toasted sage layer then I made little sweaters with the color chum plum then layered that with textured turquoise after that I just made dots and splats with oatmeal blue midnight. Finally I painted the notes with black and aventurine to make the notes pop making sure I did multiple layers of those two glazes.
Music in art how we see music in or daily lives ether through listening to a song on our phones or just feeling tour rhythm through all different kinds of art. The notes and the colorful color show how music and art are fully connected to each other.
Some struggle that I had making this art work was that ornamentation try to make it precise and clean but as I got the hang of the first couple notes when I started using sculpting toots to get the tiny detail just right and it got a lot easier. If I had to change any thing it would be the inside of the bowl with the colors to make it have a nice contrast to the outside of the bowl.
My style that I choose was ceramics style art piece this style is unique to my own personal style because it relates to my love of art and music and my expressing of the world around us. I really love this pot because it expresses my love for music and art.
My idea was to make a nice little mini mug with a heart on it I go this idea from mugs I have at home wanting to make a smaller and cute version of a normal mug.
For my choice project I took my leftover piece of clay and compressed it for 5 minutes until all the air bubbles came out. Next I smush it down until it is flat. Then I took a wedging tool and smoothed both sides of the clay out. Then once everything was smooth on both sides I took the flattened piece of clay wetted it down first I set the clay up right and curved it in then smoothed it down again then finally i scored the two edges of the clay and put them together next, I smoothed out every part of the clay until I saw no rough edges. After everything was smoothed I took another piece of clay made that flat then set my cylinder shaped clay on top of that smoothened clay. Then once it was on top I sorted both the flat piece and the cylinder piece of clay together. Next I rolled another coil piece of clay and put that in the inside so it would crack or brake in the kiln. After it cam out of the kiln I glazed the inside with oatmeal and Ochre then I painted the main color of the mug texterured turquoise. Finally I took a the deep fire brick red and chum pulm on the orametation heart.
This artwrok shows and comforting symbol with warm and love I want my aduince top think of a nice day where people can sit around and just drink hot coco together and enjoy eachothers company.
Some struggles that I dealt with this art piece was making the herat ortemation on the mug not to wide or small so that it would fit perfectly in the middle. If I could start over I would make the bottom of the hadle go out more so that it would glaze together.
This style of artwork is ceramics and it is unique to my own personal style because I love making thing that are conected to the world waether ist nautre music or even a little cozy little mug you can have by you widow stil The one this I love about this piece is the handle becausei t has a nice cool curve to it.
My idea was to make a story about a little red crane who is all alone in this world trying to find a place were he belongs. Growing up I felt very different but as I got older I found people I love and shared experience making a place where I can call home.
I took a card board box then painted that white so that when I put colors like blue and green it would pop after that I painted the middle a of the box with a circle of different blues and whites so make it look like a little pound then I painted a tree with branches on the side of the inside of the box then I made about ten white paper cranes and one red crane after I set every thing up I took pictures and moved each individual crane after I had all 128 pictures I used caput to make sounds and a video to my my stop motion piece.
My art work show inclusion in others even thought they are different I wanted to show my audience that you shouldn't treat some if there are just a little bit in perfect like the little red crane.
The most difficult part was trying to get the right lighting for the stop motion piece I over came this struggle by getting better lighting and making sure that it stayed in the right place but if I could start over i feel like I could make the white cranes do different patterns with there moment.
The style of this artwork is Paper animation in my other pieces this makes is unique to my own personal style because it it a little bit about nature like in my other pieces that I made. the one thing i love about this piece is in conect with nature and inclusion of others.
