Adalyn Leistikow, 'Fruit Bowl'
I really enjoy painting objects and the picture I took of a fruit bowl was the perfect opportunity. In March, I went on a cruise to Catalina Island and Mexico. On the ship, I went to the buffet every day! One day, I saw watermelon and pineapple as options for fruit. I chose them because they are my favorite fruits.
I started by choosing a color for the background and decided to paint it light green. Then, I sketched my hand and the fruit bowl. Then, I began painting and figuring out the perfect colors and shades of those colors to use. After a few classes, I got some help from Ms. Garrity to add details and shading to the hand and fruit bowl.
This artwork does not specifically symbolize anything to me. However, it reminds me of my fun vacation from March and it shows my favorite and refreshing fruits.
The most difficult part for me was all of the details and shading, which is why I got some help on it. If i started over, I would take kore time on sketching the fruit that is in the bowl and also repositioning my thumb since it is slightly off from the original picture.
This is a realistic painting. It is unique to me because of the bright colors. I think that bright colors really resent with me because of the joy it brings and "pop" of color. I love this whole painting. However, my favorite part of it would be how well of the the colors go and blend together (especially with the background).
